Solomon’s steps to bringing diligence into your life.
To bring diligence into every part of our lives, Solomon has given us four steps. The first step is to wake up and stop procrastinating. Proverbs 6:9-11 tells us to wake up from our slumber into the real world with its concerns, opportunities, and demands. We have to wake up to reality and bring diligence to our life because time is ticking away. By taking responsibility of our lives and mange how we spend our time, our opportunities will be multiplied!
The second step is define our visions. In Proverbs 28:19, Solomon writes that “without a bison, people perish”. With no vision, we have no motivation, direction, energy, joy, or commitment. Solomon makes an example out of ants in Proverbs 6:6. With a clear vision and detailed plan, like Solomon’s ant, we gain the diligence to achieve it.
The third step is to be effectively partnered. No one is an island of knowledge. Anyone diligent person needs the counseling of others. This is stated in Proverbs 15:22, “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers we succeed”. The diligent seeks counsels are early as possible and not after running into a deadlock, this helps to avoid risk of failure.
