Publisher's Summary

Mitch Rapp confronts a very different kind of killer in the explosive new thriller in Vince Flynn’s number one New York Times best-selling series, written by Kyle Mills.

With President Anthony Cook convinced that Mitch Rapp poses a mortal threat to him, CIA Director Irene Kennedy is forced to construct a truce between the two men. The terms are simple: Rapp agrees to leave the country and stay in plain sight for as long as Cook controls the White House. In exchange, the administration agrees not to make any moves against him.

This fragile détente holds until Cook’s power-hungry security adviser convinces him that Rapp has no intention of honoring their agreement. In an effort to put him on the defensive, they leak the true identity of his partner, Claudia Gould. As Rapp races to neutralize the enemies organizing against her, he discovers that a new generation of assassins is on her trail. A killer known to intelligence agencies only as Legion.

The shadowy group has created a business model based on double-blind secrecy. Neither the killer nor the client knows the other’s identity. Because of this, Legion can’t be called off, nor can they afford to fail. No matter how long it takes—weeks, months, years—they won’t stand down until their target is dead. Faced with the seemingly impossible task of finding and stopping Legion, Rapp and his people must close ranks against a world that has turned on them.

Kyle Mills does a great job

This is a different Mitch Rapp novel that deals with a deeply politically divided US led by an charismatic egomaniac president determined to become president for life. The First Lady is more intelligent than the president and is the real driver behind the president but lacks his appeal with voters. Mitch’s mentor and boss CIA director Irene Kennedy is fired and has to go into hiding. Mitch is now a family man. Oath of Loyalty is an outstanding addition to the Rapp series. George Guidall does his normally great job narrating, and j

This book is FANTASTIC !!!!

I think Kyle Mills has done a wonderful job keeping the character of Mitch Rapp true to form.
This book has Rapp playing a dangerous game of cat and mouse with the sitting president. The president’s paranoia has him taking out a contract with multiple people to have Rapp killed. Claudia and Anna also become targets in an effort to get to him. Mitch if able to foil a few of the various contractors plots and kill them before they can kill him. At the end of his rope and not wanting to hide out for the rest of his life he turns the tables and makes the president a target. Of course Irene Kennedy and Mitch’s friends all get involved to some degree although their connections are kept at a minimum.
The ending, and I do mean ending because it’s approximately the last 5 or so minutes before the book ends really blew me away.
George Guidell does a brilliant job narrating. He has all the right inflections and gravity that this book calls for.
This book has my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION!

The Evolving Assassin

I've been been a rabid Mitch Rapp (Vince Flynn) fan since Transfer of power. I enjoyed the hard hitting action and predictable thrills of every book, and I have to say that I'm especially pleased to see that Kyle Mills has helped Mitch to evolve from rough cut Super-Assassin doing it all alone, to a relatable human who is dependent on the people he loves and who justifiably love him. I was nervous about the book being more of a political thriller but I'm thrilled how seamlessly the two worlds have combined. Suddenly I look forward smart ass comments from Scott, and brilliant strategy from Claudia, and the childish innocence of Anna stuck in a world she doesn't yet understand. Well done, Kyle. Well done. I look forward to many more.

the best one yet.

I went the audible route this time and could not stop listening! edge of your seat suspense. no lulls in the action. very nice tie-up with all the secondary characters. Mr. Mills has done Vince Flynn proud. this one's a winner.

Oath of Loyalty: Is the #1 Book of the Year!!

After being betrayed by someone that is close to him Rapp is looking to get out of the race. But the POTUS with the help of his power-hungry security director is now afraid of Rapp and his team/friends. So, CIA Director Irene Kennedy negotiate a truce between Rapp and President Cook. It’s easy Rapp must leave the country he loves and spent his life defending until the President Cook is out of office. He and his friends must stay out in the open as much as possible.

But as with most deals made by politicians, they leave room to get around it. They Leak Claudia Gould’s alias to people that want her dead. At first Rapp thinks that Cook is breaking his deal with him. But they soon find out that it’s someone from Claudia’s past that want revenge. With help from their friends Rapp is out to stop them from getting to her. They find out that there is a new killer out there that intel agencies only know as Legion.

Legion business plan is setup so neither the killer or client knows who the other is. So, they can’t be called off and they will never stop until they succeed even if it takes months or years.

Rapp must find some way to keep all of them safe and stop this new group from succeeding! Plus stop an ever more paranoid President from continuing to go after him, his friends and family!

Repeating old chapters?

A little disappointing to wait so long for this book and then have it start with chapter 48 and 49 of the last book

DIFFERENT BUT STILL GREAT

A dramatic turn on Mitch Rapp & Irene Kennedy by an insane & power hungry President. This book grabs your attention from beginning to end. Hope next Rapp book returns him like he was. Highly recommend this book to others. Keep George Guidall as narrator!!!
