Story
In Any Means Necessary, nuclear waste is stolen by jihadists in the middle of the night from an unguarded New York City hospital. The police, in a frantic race against time, call in the FBI. Luke Stone, head of an elite, secretive, department within the FBI, is the only man they can turn to. Luke realizes right away that the terrorists’ aim is to create a dirty bomb, that they seek a high-value target, and that they will hit it within 48 hours. A cat and mouse chase follows, pitting the world’s most savvy government agents versus its most sophisticated terrorists. As Agent Stone peels back layer after layer, he soon realizes he is up against a vast conspiracy, and that the target is even more high value than he could have imagined—leading all the way to the President of the United States. In Oath of Office, a biological agent is stolen from a biocontainment lab. Weaponized, it could kill millions, and a desperate national hunt ensues to catch the terrorists before it is too late. Luke Stone, head of an elite FBI department, with his own family still in jeopardy, has vowed to walk away—but when the new President, barely sworn in, calls him, he can’t turn his back on her.

Publisher's Summary
A biological agent is stolen from a biocontainment lab. Weaponized, it could kill millions, and a desperate national hunt ensues to catch the terrorists before it is too late. Luke Stone, head of an elite FBI department, with his own family still in jeopardy, has vowed to walk away - but when the new president, barely sworn in, calls him, he can't turn his back on her.
Shocking devastation follows, winding its way all the way to the president, who finds her own family in jeopardy. Her strength tested as she steps into her new role, she surprises even her closest advisors. Rival presidential staff want Luke out of the picture, and with his team in danger, and left to his own resources, it becomes personal. But Luke Stone never gives up until he, or the terrorists, are dead.
Luke realizes quickly that the terrorist's final target is even more high value - and more terrifying - than even he could imagine. Yet with only a few days before doomsday, it's unlikely that even he can stop what's already in motion.
Oath of Office is a political thriller with non-stop action, dramatic international settings, unexpected twists, and heart-pounding suspense.

Very Good Book
I began this series because of other review comparing it to the Mitch Rapp series. While I don't feel it reaches that level of writing, I understand the comparisons. Based on the current books available in this category, Luke Stone definitely nears the top. Looking forward to the next one!

Solid espionage thriller!
The Luke Stone series has great potential. Luke Stone is not Mitch Rapp, Jack Mars is not Vince Flynn, and KC Kelly is not George Guidall, but they are almost as good. Oath of Office is a 5 star espionage thriller except for a flaw of having Luke Stone perform one literally impossible physical feat. My issue with Any Means Necessary, Book 1 of the Luke Stone series, is exactly the same. In that case he jumped five feet off a helicopter going 100 miles an hour onto the top of an SUV going 70 MPH and managed to hold on. In this book he does something even more impossible. Except for one scene in each book I would have rated both novels 5 stars.
Audible, when will you be releasing Situation Room, the next book in the Luke Stone series? It has been available in Kindle ebook format since late June of this year.

Expert performance of a non-stop thriller
This is a seat of your pants, no holds barred killer of a book. I feel like I've been with Luke and Ed on every mission. This is a well written adventure that will leave you holding you breath one minute and smiling the next. The book opens with one of the best assaults I ever read. You will remember it from the first Luke Stone book, Any Means Necessary. I re-read it several times because it is absolutely BA! That opening chapter is just a primer for what is coming in the following pages. Great respect is paid throughout these books to the men and women whose characters represent our special forces. Of course, some liberties are taken, it's not a documentary so just go with it. I'm looking forward to reading the entire series if the others are as good as the first two book. I also highly recommend the Audible book, narrated by K. C. Kelly for those the times when you literally have to put the book down.
