Publisher's Summary

To-do list: Cow tip the Minotaur. Cure a reptile dysfunction.

My name is Nate Temple, and I’m secretly a wizard. I ride a foul-mouthed unicorn, drink with Achilles, and am pals with the Four Horsemen. I’ve even cow tipped the Minotaur. I understand the theory of following the rules. I’m just not very good at the application.

Because, rules were meant to be broken. Especially when I find out a monster just murdered my parents.

Now all I can hear is the sweet, soothing song of vengeance in my ears, playing on repeat.

But when shifter dragons come to town, I’m forced to step away from hunting down the scumbag murderer. Because, I know the cure for a reptile dysfunction and the dragons aren’t going to like it.

This fight soon opens up Pandora’s Box, and suddenly, every flavor of supernatural thug is after me. The only way out of it - to save my city - is to murder my best friend.

I didn’t want, ask for, or start any of this. But I will finish it. It’s time I show St. Louis that magic is very, very real. And that an angry wizard is truly something to see - at least once in your life. You know, right before he puts you and everyone you've ever met in the grave.

If you like Jim Butcher, Sarah J. Maas, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene, you won't be able to put down the highly addictive Nate Temple Series.

New Narrator

Didn't like the narrator. Every time he started narrating in monotone, it took me out of the story.

in continuity

the story was allright but the thing that reall took me out of it is when he brazenly uses magic in front of people the half a page later talks about how keeping the secret is soo important it seems like a small thing but it really bugged me

Great story!! (Repurchased for narrator)

I have the entire collection of the Nate Temple Series. It started with this first book, however, it was read by another narrator, and so it threw me off when the rest of the series is read by Richards. I repurchased it upon seeing that it had been reread by Joel, who portrayed the characters better, in my opinion. I’m listening to it now and loving it!

Bodleian Son

Great action, kept me wanting more. Nate Temple holds my interest wanting to see where his power is coming from and where it is going to take him.

If you love myths, legends, and magic.........

One of the best book series I have ever read, or listen to in this case, I love how the author ties together all sorts of myths, Legends, religions into one awesome book series!

rather derivative.

I guess if you like Mashup mixes of contemporary music, you will like this story. The writing style feels rushed and the story is derivative. Elements of nearly every popular story series to hit the charts for the last 15 years perpetrated with a Bruce Wayne meets Harry dresden character. ill call it ok for some light listening.

A new author, needs polishing

I like urban fantasy, so I had hopes for this series. I think this has potential to be a good collection. Silvers plots reasonably well, and the story held my interest. But he likes his protagonist far too much at this point.

I hope that he improves his character development as he writes more.

I will try one more in the series before I make a final judgement.
