Publisher's Summary

Quinn

I thought pulling my pack away from Winsford would save us. I never realized how wrong I could be.

After Rowan and I escape Mercer’s hold, we have to get the pack somewhere safe, but my only option is a pride run by a controlling alpha. With everyone safely inside the walls of Winterhaven, Rowan and I attempt to search for the truth, but we’re being hunted and driven further from the answers we need. I want to do everything to protect my mate, but as I learn more about his past, I realize that I might need to protect him from more than just Mercer.

Rowan

I never thought I could embrace this other side of me, especially when I’ve always been taught to hate it.

But Quinn makes me feel alive and happier than I ever thought I’d be after shutting away a part of myself for years. When he’s with me, I feel like we can accomplish anything, and figuring out why Mercer is targeting us is only the first step. However, we could lose everything if we make a single mistake. One thing I know about my mate, though, is that he’s the most determined man I’ve ever met. And I’ll be right by his side as we bring Mercer crashing to the ground.

Of Betrayal and Monsters is an action-filled romance with a dash of comedy. It’s the second book in a series with a continuing storyline and an HFN.

Can't believe it's an alice winters' story.

Not even close to being as good as other books of that author. The story is written as if no one reviewed it before publishing...

....

i normally like Alice winters. the first book had promise bit this one yikes. Quinn spends way touch time missing obvious things or "trying to keep everyone safe" that he is constantly putting everyone in danger and his best friend isn't cute or funny he's a creep. seriously who sexually harasses your best friend to annoy the boyfriend of said best friend?

why bother

I tried again. Don't really know why I bother, the stories continue to be trite.
I liked the first couple of series on audible, but lately they could just as well not have been. There are no substance. No depth nor any surprises. It is bland like an US TVseries.
The sad thing is I used to like this author, a sure buy. Now I won't bother anymore.

A

What a great performance by the narrator of a great book. This isn't a book you read for the typical alpha story. This book is strong in its dialog and connections with the characters. While you can guess some of the mystery, there is still a lot to discover and it's both fun and suspenseful following the characters as they figure things out. There are developments that I can't wait to see play out in the future. I don't think the next book is out yet but I pray I'm wrong.

Floof x 2

Quinn is in the process of taking his pack to another location to keep them safe. It is with the pride that he and Graham left years before. This pride is run by an alpha named Apollo and he is a total douche. He is the worst kind of alpha. He is a dictator and no one in his pride cares for him. Quinn tells his pack that they have to abide by the rules until they leave. After arriving he and Rowan get permission to visit Rowan's father so they can learn more about the pills he has been taking for years. We are given a glimpse of what his life was like as a child and it wasn't pretty. They didn't get much information from his father.
I was really drawn to their detective work. Watching them go around the city trying to figure out who Mercer really is and why he is so obsessed with them was great. Watching Quinn try to follow Apollo rules without looking weak in front of his pack, was a sight to see. Seeing the new dynamics play out with Emery being added to group was hilarious! Even though we are dealing with more and more drama and suspense, Alice still has time for humor. And it is very much appreciated. Without the humor sprinkled in, this book would be too heavy and dark and I don't think that would be good.

I love this series so much!

I absolutely loved this one, just as much as the first and I really love all the characters.

This might be my next favorite series after Hitman - I just love the group of characters and how hilarious they all are together. Rowan and Quinn are so great together and I love how protective and united the are, and then Ari steals the scenes and I also love Emery and his quiet sass. Just a great bunch of characters.

Greg does an amazing job narrating the series, and his voices and just the energy he brings to all the sass and snark and cat antics are just too perfect. I cannot wait for the audio of the third book!

"love"

The book started where book 1 ended and it Wooo me. I fell more in love with Quinn and Rowan and all the other characters mostly Ari. There are new voices which I also am looking forward to hearing more about in book 3. The narrator performance was absolute. The book was a magnificent, a masterpiece, a fine artwork and I don't regret not even a single hour not listening to it.

THANK YOU for your hard work and I hope book three is as amazing as book 1 and 2.

Fantastic

Of Betrayals and Monsters is the second book in the Winsford Shifters series. This book is not a standalone - continues where book one stops, so make sure to read the first book before Of Betrayals and Monsters. I absolutely love the titles of each individual book in this series. The plot is full of drama and action with suspense that kept me hanging on each word. The characters were fantastic, and I love the banter and sarcasm. This was a great addition to the series and made me excited to read the third book.

So good !

Oh man...this series just keeps getting better and better!! I love Quinn and Rowan (especially when he’s being a dramatic snow leopard) so much. I love how their relationship has evolved throughout these two books and how much Rowan has come with excepting his shifter side.
I’m loving Greg’s narration of the series so far!! He is really bringing these characters to life!!

The best thing about this is the cover art

While I've enjoyed many of Alice Winter's audios this series is not the best...maybe she's taking advantage of her success and pumping out new books. But the quality of this is well below what I expected.

This story is nonsense, poorly written, poorly edited, strange sentence structures and word choices - as if it was speed written.

I'm tired of the same old cliches and formulas... the stereotype sassy character, the serious character, the angsty events that pull the mcs apart of bring them closer. I got bored very quickly I've heard it all before. The great narrator is the only reason I kept listening.

Amazing!!

Alice Winters is amazing!

I’m really loving this series and can’t wait to hear the next instalment!

The storyline flows with ease from book to book and love how the characters grow and the diversity of the pack.

I love Emory in this book particularly, his snarkiness, sarcy comebacks and all round character - he’s just so endearing 🥰

Definitely worth 5🌟’s and highly recommend if you love Alice Winters work 😁

Fantastic Author and narrator

This is another fantastic book from Alice Winters. I love all of her different series and characters. I worried at first it would be just a repeat of the same story but she manages to come up with very different stories and characters the same true to life. I can’t wait to get my next audible credit through to listen to the last book in the series. If you like this book I would also recommend the hitman Siri says they are awesome as well.

Continuing to intrigue.

This second instalment has developed the characters, who i adored from the first book and add new challenges. The story twist and turns more with every chapter, you have no time to get bored with this tale. Can’t wait for the third book.
