Publisher's Summary

What's life like on the tenure track?

For Assistant Professor of Sociology Dr. Deja Evans, it sucks. Hard. Every day.

Between the class prep, the meetings, grading student work, trying to find time to complete her own research and the meetings, she didn't have a life, she had a digital calendar that decided whether she got to wallow in her feelings at three p.m. or seven p.m., on Thursday or maybe Sunday. And the worst meeting of them all was the two-and-a-half-hour, once-a-month Faculty Senate, which was drier than her dating life, duller than her skin in winter, and far longer than her attention span.

The only thing that made those never-ending Faculty Senate meetings bearable was watching Dr. Alejandro Mendoza, associate professor of history, breathe. For years, Deja had harbored a kind of secret crush on the sexiest man on campus never thinking that he would ever feel the same, until one unexpected day, they have a steamy after-hours encounter in her office and suddenly her life seems much more exciting.

That lasts about half a minute.

Over the course of a hectic academic year, Deja tries to survive her classes, help her students, prepare herself for her third-year review, and most important of all, she has to learn how to get out of her own way and just let Alejandro love her.

Perfect Sweet Heat

The best way to describe Office Hours is “office romance meets scorcher” as Katrina Jackson knows how to turn up the heat between these two lovers!! This book is very low angst and just filled with a happy meeting of two professionals & seeing a hard-working woman get the happy, supportive, hotter-than-sin man, she deserves. A nice choice for audiobook between darker options.

A narrator like Welseigh Sibohan means that you'd get the perfect performance of dialog. Her voice makes even the day-to-day events in Deja's life as a college professor trying to make tenure sound thrilling. New-to-me voice Gomez Pugh brought depth to the narrative of Alejandro & delivered the heat when needed. Personally, I thought the 3rd person narrative from his point of view went back towards reading instead of performing, but I still enjoyed the timbre of his voice throughout the tale.

Just the light and steamy read I needed.

After binge reading Katrina's The Family series, I quickly picked this audio to listen to while I got things done around the house. And what a treat this was.

I don't think I've read a professor/professor romance before, but I enjoyed the insight of being one in a college setting. There were a ton of cute moments between Deja and Alejandro especially as they navigate their budding relationship throughout the book.

I'm so glad I picked up the audio for this one, it was a quick read and I enjoyed the narrators.

Great feel good listen!

I really enjoyed listening to this book and learning about Deja and Alejandro. This was my first book by this author and think she did a great job keeping the story interesting and relatable. This was also my first time hearing narration by Gomez and I enjoyed his voice. He did a great job with the characters and has a really nice voice. Last but most definitely not least, the reason I chose to spend this credit in the first place was because of my girl Wesleigh who ALWAYS does an amazing job! I loved her in this read as I do in everything she narrates. She brings 100% in all of her work and is simply amazing!!

Potential for series

I love this story….Deja & Alejandro’s characters fit so well. I would love to see this turn into a series to hear Toni, Marie and Mike’s stories. I hope the author plans to make it a series. I wish there was a bit more info about where this story takes place instead of references to it being in the middle of nowhere or centerville.

The heroine was a hard sell

Enjoyed the story. Alejandro carried the book and Daja was difficult to root for. The supporting cast was a comedic addition that I appreciated.

Great book!

Damn, that description of her catching his eye across the coffee shop..HOT! I really loved their flirting and Deja and her girlfriends giving her a hard time with her crush on Alejandro. Ch 4 in her office, OMG. Smokin’! Ch 8 through their whole date and after at his place. I kinda wish there was a little more development in the beginning of the book because at first everything was a bit one sided. I did love how Alejandro called his chef brother for help to impress Deja for dinner. Really cute.
This was a really enjoyable book and the audiobook was fantastic! I loved Wesleigh and Gomez and how they portrayed Deja and Alejandro's performances through this entire story.

Sexy Academic Romance

I read the book before I listened to the book. The male was a bit robotic but i loved the story so much that I had to keep going. Wesleigh is one of my fave narrators but the guy is new to me. I needed more emotion from him. But the story was so damn good... you can forgive him.

Academia and Love

I didn't hate this story and I didn't love it. Alejandro was a great character but Dasia was exhausting. I didn't understand how she was free and aggressive with him but work not so much. I got to be old and I wanted their relationship to develop a bit more before the end. again not horrible. worth the listen. Wesleigh and Gomez did a great job with narration btw
