Publisher's Summary

When hockey phenom Billie-Jo Barker returns home and decides to play in the local Friday night hockey league, all hell breaks loose. Not because Billie's talent is in question but because Billie is a woman. And though these are modern times, some of the local guys still have a problem letting a girl into their "men's club".

Soon Billie is at the center of a small -own battle of the sexes, with everyone choosing sides. Her sisters. The townsfolk. Her friends. And yet the only person whose opinion she cares about doesn't seem to care much at all. Logan Forest, the man who broke her heart when she was 18 and the man she now shares the bench with every Friday night.

She's got a lot to prove. Though Billie-Jo Barker scores on the ice, will this girl ever score with the man of her dreams?

Fun and heartfelt

The story of boy knows girl; boy finally realizes he loves the girl; gets angry at the girl; and, finally gets the girl. BUT hockey? Loved it! The narrator was awesome with none of the phoney voice changes per character! And, the sex... let's just say it'll have you "dancing" in your seat! Very well done!!!! So, check it out!

Not much to like about most characters

The sisters were so nasty to each other that it actually made me uncomfortable. There was also too much gratuitous sex and cursing in it and I am not at all a prude.

I would not recommend this book.

Good but frustrating story

Let me start off by saying that these are the three most self-indulgent and obnoxious sisters ever written! They are all selfish and only think about themselves and don't care about consequences.

This is Billy's story and she has been cut by her professional hockey team because of injuries. She comes back home and wants to join a no contact league. Unfortunately her home town is from the 1890s and doesn't think a woman should play in the 'men's league' even though the rules don't specify gender.

I did like the story but hated how selfish the h was throughout the entire story. She says... I know how to take a hit but she was sidelined twice for concussions.

Girl hockey!

This was a fun story about a small town girl who comes home after she gets a career ending injury from playing professional hockey. The folks in her town are not very open minded when she joins a amateur hockey league that plays for fun, since she's a woman. The hero feels that they should just shut up and leave her alone. The story is entertaining and the narration is great, Maxine Mitchell can narrate anything.

Interesting

You have to pay close attention to keep Billie, Bobbi and Betty separate. Thankfully, Betty didn’t enter this story until late.

A great stiry

First off Logan Forest is the kind of man you fall for easily. Billie was a little too challenging for me to like. She was vindictive toward her sister and weak when she should have been strong and strong-minded when she should have been reasonable. However, I am going to continue the series because Bobbie and Shanes's story will be explosive.

Tolerable but tedious

I wanted to like this story about a woman who played hockey on a professional men's team in Sweden, only to come home to a small town to play on their men's recreational team. The dynamic of a father struggling with dementia and the pressures that placed on the other sister, Bobbie Jo, and the grandfather should have made it a compelling story. But the character is annoying. She weaves between insecure secret keeping and blind bullheaded stubbornness. The misogyny in this town is at an insanely high level. Not a favorite.

Hockey, Ice and Everything Nice

Billie and Logan are an unlikely duo. Real life issues , family and community dynamics, and a secret or two from the past stack up against this sports heroine and hard working town “playboy”.

The plot moves fast, almost as fast as their slap shots on the ice.

Will these two make it for the long haul or will this attraction burn out?

interesting

A story of complicated emotional conflicts and family drama. Billie is one determined girl who knows how to go after what she wants no matter who doesn't agree.
