Great book... Laughs and insightful feedback about the world of the RN
This is a great book! Very informative, entertaining, and insightful. Sonja does a great job with the narration, too.
In January 2019, I started course work toward a BSN degree to completely switch careers from financial services IT (after 22+ years) to nursing. Hearing Sonja’s viewpoints and personal experiences didn't scare me off of the daunting task of pursuing my BSN. Rather, it has given me more confidence in this crazy path I'm on. Although I'm not a ”baby nurse” yet, I hope I get to work with a nurse like Sonja when I finish my BSN (in 2022), pass my NCLEX-RN, and finally begin my ”Career 2.0” as a nurse in a few years.

Spot On
Loved it. Listened in one sitting bc I couldn't push stop to go to bed. But, I'm a noc nurse, so that's pretty normal to stay up well past 3am anyway. Smiles almost the whole way through. Except when crying, because I've either been there or know my time for it is coming. You hit on every point. Why I became a nurse. Why I'm proud to be a nurse. All my non nurse friends and family members who give "that look" where in the middle of your story you realize you just ruined one of the 3 meals you get to eat with them that month, so you stop talking (and it sucks bc you haven't even gotten to the gross/funny part yet). All of it.
I am finding this book during week 3 of the quarantine and I am the only family member who has left my house in almost a month. I was starting to feel guilty that I "get" to leave the house. But I really appreciate that you are reminding me of the gratitude I feel that I GET to be a nurse, period. Thank you for writing this book and sharing your feelings. You are not alone.

Where was this when I graduated
I loved this book! It brought me right back to when I graduated. I just wish that something like this was around 10 years ago. I enjoyed listening to this book and realized I wasn’t being overly sensitive to the nurse bullying I experienced. The author’s story of her mother brought me to tears because I am going through the same thing now. I thank god everyday for the coworkers/2nd family I have met through being a nurse.

It’s alright
I read this because I’m a new nurse and wanted to have something to connect to while on orientation. Honestly I didn’t relate to a lot of things. I have the feelings she did. I love being a nurse but being a nurse didn’t decide me, I decided it. It was a little too out there in terms of “you are the only thing keeping that patient alive” agenda which I believe is not true and that mindset will get you into trouble.

I love the brutal honesty of this book, as a current care assistant and student nurse at the half way point in my training I was looking for something to uplift my spirits and keep me going. This book did that.
I will be telling all of my nurse and student nurse friends to read or listen to this because it had me crying at parts with empathy and also side splitting laughter.
One day when I’ve been qualified for a while I will definitely revisit this book and love it all over again!

Love From A Nurse
I’ve been following Sonja on Instagram for some time and her book did not disappoint. An essential read for any new nurse, who feels like they will never get it, never feel the love, or never be good at what they do. Sonja will show you that you are enough and you will only get better
