Dude...I almost didn't make it

Here's the thing, good story, great snu snu. Now I've listened to a number of Simon Archer books now and like them in general and as a whole. I got this book because of his good record with me, but. Dear sweet mother of god, sister Mary and Joseph! The freakin talkin and inner monolog WHILE IN COMBAT that went on kept cutting the flow of the story. Seriously, almost had to stop the book and leave it behind. Sort your story, when there's action, keep the action. When self reflecting and analyzing be somewhere doing something that doesn't leave the reader asking "did he stop time", or are they just waiting for him to finish like a anime transformation scene.

Too much side track.

The MC gets side tracked/ distracted way too easily. What was more infuriating was that the MC would go off on a tangent in the middle of a fight scene. Narrator could be quite a bit smoother in his performance. The story felt jerky with the awkward stops in the storyline.

ya...

narrator needs to stop putting emotions into his voice... he sucks at it... and tries to put it into places it dosen't need to be.

What a way to start a book

Drier then the desert in the first four chapters. I just had to stop the title of the book was so promising and it failed expectations miserably.

harem killed the story.

the rest of the book was fantastic from the narrator to the world building. it's just the harem is over bearing, unrealistic and very unwanted. it would of been twice a good without the harem.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, Hold Up!

I stopped to write this in less than 5 minutes in. I absolutely wanted to share with you how hooked I am, because of the incredible performance by the Narrator, Ron McKenzie. the Narrator is doing such a jam up job expressing the opening emotions the MC is going through, that I had to pause to take a break!

Damn, I love Simon Archer’s writing. I am working on my first book, after I felt inspired to write my own while listening to Monster Girl Defense Force.

Ron McKenzie was hitting out the park so well, I thought I was living the character and had to take breaks from listening to it, because I was feeling the anxiety! That my readers is called empathy, but more like unconscious empathy from the left side of the brain (emotion). The right side is logic, and I was working on my data entry/dispatch job. So, I was lightly invested.

@Ron McKenzie, if you ever see this review, or if I manage to contact him in the future, I gotta take my hat off to you sir. I want to hear more of your content!

@Simon Archer, give this narrator more work please!

Now…back to the story.

Way to much thinking by the main character recap and wonder A 12 hour book a only about a half a day goes by in the book
Between reading his stats and looking at everybody else’s stats at times it just goes on and on about nothing

narrator did great, but the story made me cringe.

In the vast amount of audiobooks ive listened to, this is the first i had to drop midway through.
its like something a 14 year old boy would write.
