Story
On a dusty hilltop, Jesus once kick-started his church with a ragtag group of fishermen who called themselves "The Way". Within a remarkably short time, The Way became the world's most influential religious faith. Against impossible odds, that group of nobodies astonished the world. Two thousand years later - by any measure - Christianity is retreating on all fronts. The Way has lost its way. In The Way Back, media and marketing experts Phil Cooke and Jonathan Bock take a hard look at Christians today and reveal that we, as a salesforce, have lost our faith in our product.

Story
We're in the middle of an epidemic of average. So-called "normal" people get up every day, go to work, do what's asked of them, leave promptly at five, and return home to sit on the couch and watch TV. Society tells us that this is what it means to lead a balanced life. Don't stress too much or work too hard. Your career isn't everything. But Grant Cardone thinks this preoccupation with balance has really just given an excuse to be mediocre.

One Big Question
Phil Cooke is very blunt and straight forward. I enjoy to the point narration and listened straight through. I can understand if someone leaves this book wanting more and I don't think it's the authors fault but rather because it leaves you with the desire to find your one big thing which no one else but you can answer.
This book successfully guides you in directions of various ways that you can discover what you're really good at, what's really in your skill sets, honestly evaluating what you do best. There were many questions he asks for you to answer that I never even thought about.
This book posed more questions for me at the end of it rather than any conclusion, but I believe it's a good thing. He asks what your one big thing is and only the listener can finish the book with their answer.

Lacks depth
Obviously no one can tell you what your calling is, however, was hoping this book would be more profound. I wanted thought provoking questions to improve my self awareness so that I can figure out what I truly want out of my career. Unfortunately it felt very high level to me…what are you good at? Passionate about? Etc. I finished it just because I spent the credit and it was short. Reading it at least meant I set aside time in a busy schedule to think about what I want from life. There were not many take always for me though.
The narrator talks fast but otherwise was good.

What a powe-packed resource this is for helping direct others into their strengths and purpose! Honestly, I bought this a few years ago and started reading it and loved it, however someone needed it more, so I gave it to them. It truly blessed their life!
Now, I have the opportunity to catch up and listen to it on Audible, and it has fully charged me up again! I just finished it and I'm going to listen to it a few more times as I drive. Thank you, Phil, for this amazing, yet practical and empowering book. I'm going to give some away to my graduates to help them discover their 1 Big Thing! -John C. Buckley
