Cocky and self-assured, I’m confident when it comes to my skills both on stage and in the bedroom. Everything in my life is perfect, even if I am the last single man standing in our famed rock band. But it wasn’t always this way. Jayla knew me before I hit it big. Back when I was a skinny teen, chasing dreams without a penny to my name. Now she’s back in my life and so much more than the girl I remember.

She's innocent, inexperienced, virginal, and completely out of place. Now it's my personal mission to change all of that. Sure, I'm also on this tour to play drums. A bit of blackmail got me the gig and out from under my parents' control. All I've ever wanted to is to live the rock star life, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Doesn't matter who gets hurt, as long as I get mine. At least that's how it started. This girl, she's gotten under my skin. Makes me want to be a better man. Has me dreaming of more than a life on the road.

Handsome, charismatic, and blessed with a voice that brings thousands of fans to their knees, Trent Donovan is a walking cliché. But he has another thing coming if he thinks he can charm his way into my panties. I don’t care if he’s rich and famous because I’m not here to bag a rock star. I’m here to pave my own way. To prove I belong center stage. There’s just one problem. The more time I spend on the road with the band, the more I realize Trent’s nothing like the arrogant playboy I expected. We share a love of music, and if I’m honest so much more.

Story
Don't fall in love with your bandmate's girl. It's an unspoken rule, and one I'm determined to follow. I've always been the guy to take the high road, to be the voice of reason, but when it comes to Jess, I'm tired of fighting this overwhelming attraction. The more time we spend together, the more compelled I am to show her she's worthy of love and dreams of her own. The lines of my moral compass begin to blur. I should leave her alone, but I can't. I know it's wrong, but everything about us feels so right.

Dear Mr. Vega: I felt it necessary to follow up on today’s meeting, since we weren’t able to speak candidly in front of your son. I was shocked to discover that you are Ryder’s dad. I think it would be best if we just pretend that we met in person for the first time today. Your son is a very bright (flirtatious and talkative) student and since his education is a top priority for both of us, I hope I can count on you to respectfully refrain from grinning at me, using that sexy tone of voice, and undressing me with your annoyingly beautiful brown eyes....

My heart opens to Cooper Haywood the moment we meet. How can it resist? He's charming, devastatingly handsome, and sweeps me off my feet before I realize the impact he's making. And then it's too late. We fall too fast to worry about the consequences. We love so hard that we ache when we're apart. Even though I have a past that still haunts me and he has a future that could put us at risk, none of that matters when we're together. Until it does. And then everything changes.

Publisher's Summary
"I have nothing to offer a woman like Cora. Not what she deserves, yet...I want her anyway."
I never expected to meet the woman of my dreams in a coffee shop. Especially when she's a famous Hollywood actress and I'm nothing but an overworked, underpaid barista.
Only I already have someone special - my son. Providing for him and getting through college are my top priorities. Dating while juggling single fatherhood isn't.
Cora Bentley deserves a partner who can offer her the world. But the heart wants what it wants, and mine won't stop beating for hers.
I should walk away. It's what's best, even if she won't admit it. But I can't bring myself to do so. Not when she's everything I could ever want.
Not when she could be our one good thing.
One Good Thing is a single-dad opposites-attract stand-alone contemporary romance narrated by Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb.

So many Great things about this book
Kacey Shea has such a gift for stories that will have you devouring her books in one sitting! Slow burn but not dragging slow and HOT scenes that pay off the slow burn part of the book! Cora is an award winning actress we got to know her and love her in the off track record series. Issac oh my god issac!!! Issac if a single dad who is trying to keep his head above water doing his best to care for his son and also make sure they have a future that is better than what they have now. This story is an amazing ride, so well written and I would read this book and think wow that was a great story but Lessa Lamb and Tim Paige just blew it out of the water!!! Lessa is so talented he voice is like a sip a great tequila after a long day and Tim’s performance was just so amazing I am Mexican and the minute I heard the first lines on his narration I was so impressed with his work. Really wanted more from Cora's story
Let's start with the easy part. I like Tim Paige. He does a descent job narrating. I am not too fond of Lessa Lamb. Her narration was too slow and too breathy such that I had to speed up this audio 1.4X otherwise it was getting on my nerves. I don't know if that is a flaw in Lessa's narration or if that is a fail on the editor's part. Aside from speed, she doesn't have the best male narration. At times I thought Isaac was one of his sisters.. Honestly, Tim Paige was the only thing saving this narration.
As for the story, I think this might be the second book by KS that I didn't really like. I felt as if Cora slowly stopped being Cora in order to fit into Isaac's world. Maybe it's just me but I felt like she traded in her fire for domesticity so that she can have something 'real'. As for Issac, I can understand how having a child with undiagnosed Autism can be overwhelming but most of the bumps in this relationship were because he would take one step forward then take two steps back. I guess I am not a fan of indecision especially for someone who is admant from the start about moving forward.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend someone to spend a credit on this but I like KS and she does have some other awesome listens that I would recommend. This listen just wasn't for me. It might be awesome for someone else though :)

Sweet parents journey
I think this story could have been way better if the author had done their research on the resources available to a parent of a special needs kid. I felt like every inaccuracy took me out of the story. As a parent of 2 special needs kids it felt like he was always making excuses for why he didn’t take his child in sooner. As a parent your job is to advocate and make it happen for your child. I felt the main character was constantly giving excuses for why. If I felt the heat level between these two more I may have given this more.
The best parts for me was the interpretation of having your child react in a public place and the adult living facility.
I really wanted to like this, but if you are going to write a book about being a parent of a child with special needs the attention to detail really needs to be there.

Full of surprises and excitement!
I was so excited to dig into this one! Cora has been a character that I have followed from the first 3UG book. I hated her then liked her now and As the stories went on I grew to respect her. She might be a Hollywood actress but in some way you would never guess it. I like how she is depicted in here. We really get to know more about her and her want of a guy just for her.
Enter the coffee serving, college going single....dad? That is a surprise but he is busy busy busy and doesn’t know if he has time for anyone. I loved that he didn’t become star struck. He treated Cora like a regular person. Seeing these two come together is magic. I enjoyed his son and the stress, wonderment and difficulty surrounding him.
Overall it’s not what I expected for Cora which makes it surprising and exciting. I did listen to this on audio. Tim Paige who is a new narrator to me did wonderful and Leesa Lamb did a great job as usual.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Wow.
Just wow.
I totally auto one clicked this one yesterday because duh, Tim Paige. I didn’t expect to binge it and almost finish it the first day I listened (I would have if I hadn’t been so tired last night. 😝)
It has it all. The story is brilliant. Powerful and covers a range of topics from work/life balance, single fatherhood, Autism, self confidence and society norms.
I was blown away. The characters are so real and deal with the “Am I good enough?” Question that plagues most of us.
There is brilliant heat to balance the seriousness plus funny and feel good moments that have you happy crying along with the ugly cry.
Kacey Shea thank you for writing this book and thank you Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb for delivering such a dynamite performance.
Okay. Gonna go have a book hangover now.

Outstanding Story & Listen🎧Enthralling & Heartfelt
I loved this book, the story and the characters are absolutely amazing. Kacey Shea is one of my favorite authors, she is a gifted author who creates stories that are realistic and easy to relate to and she includes people from different walks of life, some who you would think would never work or mix in real life, but she shows us how it is done. Cora, an actress who works hard and is making a name for herself in the industry, in a good way of course. I loved that her success and fame never went to her head and she always remembered her roots. She enjoyed visiting a local coffee shop to chat with the barrister, ok she kind of crushed on him and decided it was time to make a play on him. Isaac, a single Dad, works several jobs to make ends meet and trying to finish college all while raising his three year old son. He has a supportive family but there is only so much they could do. He is an admiral character, I loved his huge heart and his dedication to his son David. Cora had to leave the country to film on location, she could not get Isaac out her mind and it was the same for him. So when Cora sees him working on the movie set she is pleasantly surprised, Isaac was a little unsure of himself at first but the chemistry between them could only be denied for so long. I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted with plenty of drama, heartfelt and emotional moments and the start of a wonderful romance. I thought Cora and Isaac were perfect together and for each other, she was great with David too. Kacey Shea thank you for another awesome story and emotional roller coaster ride. I loved the cameo appearance of Three Ugly Guys, happy to see Cora and Trent remained friends over the years.
🎧📚🎧 And for the narration, Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb are the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, they gave each their own voice and personality. Their portrayal of the characters was spot on, it was like they made each role their own, Tim Paige became Isaac, sounding just like I pictured him to sound, the same with Lessa Lamb’s Cora. They were great playing the secondary characters too. Their talent has no limits and it truly shines in this book as they captured every single emotion these characters felt and projected them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this awesome listen and for all the heart you put into your work.

Beautiful story & unique characters
I loved listening to this book, narrated by Lessa Lamb and Tim Paige. Tim Paige tapped into all the emotions of Issac’s character beautifully and Lessa Lamb’s sweet, tender voice was perfect as well. These narrators blended well together and delivered a flawless narration. So well done.
This is simply a beautiful story. Cora and Issac were perfect together. I loved their connection, chemistry and easy banter.
Issac is single dad to 3 year old David. David is non verbal and is Issac’s whole world. He missed the first year of his life and is struggling with the guilt he feels even though it was not his fault as the mother kept him from Issac. Cora is an older woman, and successful actress.
I loved the uniqueness of their relationship. Cora did not care at all that on the surface she and Issac were from different worlds. She is patient and passionate with David and so excepting of him. There were some battles to overcome but together they are a strong couple and I loved how they challenged and pushed each other.
Most definitely worth a credit IMO!

This one missed the mark for me
This book was a real struggle for me and I probably would have DNF'd if it wasn't the book club pick for March. I didn't connect to the hero or the heroine, I didn't really feel a connection to either of them. My main issue with the story was the storyline of Issac's son. As a BCBA in Southern California, I have a lot of information about early intervention and resources available to children through the state and there were a lot of holes in this storyline and inaccuracies in the process. I could see where this might be an emotional storyline for someone without the info and background I have but I found it ruined the relationship and story for me. I also felt like there was significant issues between the power dynamic of Isaac and Cora that were not addressed. Isaac was consistently whining about how he was struggling for money, and couldn't take care of his family, give Cora the life she deserved... blah blah blah, very gender stereotyped, machismo attitude, but this was never a discussion that had a resolution in the story. I usually love a book that deals with autism and special needs but this one missed the mark.

sweet single dad book
This was a sweet and touching story. I love a good single parent book and this fits the bill. Isaac is a young single dad, but he is never immature or unnecessarily dramatic. Cora is such a great character. She is a hard working actress who is determined in both life and love. They communicate. They act like grown-ups. They support each other. And I love all of it. Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb did an incredible job with the narration. Both performances were very genuine and heartfelt. I would have enjoyed a native Spanish speaker doing the narration, because some pronunciation was a little off, but overall a really good book.

One Good Thing has ALL the Good Things! 5 Stars!
One Good Thing has ALL the Good Things!! 5 HUGE STARS!!! I loved everything about this book! It was utter perfection!
Isaac is a single dad working multiple jobs, trying to provide for his son, burning the candle at both ends, and slowly burning himself out. However, amidst the stresses of his life, he can't deny the connection with Cora, the Hollywood starlet who frequents the late night coffee shop he works at. A friendships blossoms into more, and these two are absolutely scorching together! Isaac has some struggles he's going through with his son, but Cora ends up being the perfect support and stays by his side through it all. He tries pushing her away, but she stands her ground and insists they are perfect for each other and can make it through anything together!!
I just adored these two together! This story is very character driven, absolutely NO unnecessary drama, fluff, or ridiculous conflicts. It was so heartfelt, yet still so deliciously steamy and I just swooned SO hard over Isaac! He has everything I love in a perfect Book Boyfriend! These two had a real, honest, deep devotion and love for one another, and can't wait to read more like this from Kacey Shea!!
Huge thanks to author Kacey Shea, who gifted me the audiobook! I absolutely loved it! It was wonderfully narrated by Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb!

All the things
Single dad stories are my kryptonite and this one was no different. It hit me hard in the feels. Not only is it a single dad story but Isaac is struggling to make ends meet and his child has some underlying issues that come to light throughout the story. Enter Cora, a movie star, who seemingly has it all, yet spends so much time at the coffee place Isaac works at. After one hot night, they don’t see each other for a while. But once they reconnect it is all the things. I loved that Isaac was a man with real issues and real emotions and reactions. He doesn’t always do or say the right thing. And I loved that Cora didn’t back down, she fought for what she wanted. She accepted Isaac and his son as they were. Their story is beautiful and endearing.
There is one guy-wrenching scene that just had me all up in my emotions and crying and cursing. I’m sure anyone that has read or listened to it know what scene I mean. The performance was outstanding for it too.
I had to run to my book club lovelies to ask questions at one point due to country differences, and I needed to check the info. As I was surprised. That’s not on the author but how different countries operate. Not going to say any more on that as to not spoil it for anyone.
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb were great for this story. Their voices complemented each other and the transition from one to the other wasn’t too jarring. Tim brought so much emotion to Isaac’s character that it shone through and made this one of my favourite performances by him. Lessa had the perfect voice to the sassy Cora.
The only slight issue I had with the audiobook was the lack of diversity for a diverse character. Otherwise, I thought it was a high quality audiobook.

The strong yet delicate Cora…
I was so glad to be able to follow Cora’s story after listening to her ‘here and there’ in the Off Track Records series.
We always hear the story’s of the strong rich men, but what does happen with the strong rich women… This story beautifully portrayed Cora as a strong, successful yet down to earth and “normal” person.
I’m so glad Cora found love with Issac. Such passion, love and understanding. This was an emotional tail showing love and family are a strong combination
5* Perfection when it came to the narration. Tim and Lessa were the perfect combination

A great story with great narraters!
One Good Thing is Cora and Isaac's story and what a amazingly addictive story it is!
I have been waiting for Cora's story ever since she first appeared in Kacey's Off Track Records series and her story was even better than I could of imagined!
Cora Bentley is Hollywood's sweetheart, at the top of her game, taking on the acting world with fire.
Isaac is a single dad to a sweet three year old called David and is struggling to balance many jobs to make sure him and David have everything they need.
Cora and Isaac meet when Isaac is working one of his many jobs as a barista in a coffee shop when Cora likes to visit late at night.
For weeks Cora visits and they spend all that time talking and making each other laugh. Until one night things get heated in the back room.
Interrupted by Isaac's boss, the pair part ways.
Every night Isaac waits for Cora to come back to the coffee shop. Sadly unbeknown to him Cora is in Brazil filming for her new film. Thinking she regretted what had happened between them. "You're Cora Bentley. I'm me. We don't even exist in the same world."
Imagine both their surprise when filming starts in LA and Isaac is there to look after the art.
Is this the chance they've been waiting for?
Will their differences and life styles be too much to overcome or will their differences make them even stronger?
Listen to One Good Thing to find out!
I loved One Good Thing it is soooo good,
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb has done a great job of bringing Cora and Isaac to life. I couldn't think of anyone who could of done better than these two!
I received an arc of One Good Thing and I am voluntarily leaving my review.

Swoonnnnnn!!!
Kacey Shea is a master at stealing my heart. Each book I know it's my favorite, but this one is really special. Featuring Cora, who we met in the Off the Tracks series, she is getting her coffee from the good looking, tattooed barista. There is definitely chemistry, and after a night of quick passion, the two are destined for love. Or are they? Cora is building her career, working to become the best at her craft. Isaac is a jack of all trades and a single dad just trying to keep his head above water. Can they possibly find a way to have a relationship? From start to finish I was completely invested in this couple. I love Cora. She may be an actress in the limelight, but she is down to earth in her life. She sees the good in people and with patience and love gives of herself. Isaac is impossible not to love. He is hard working, responsible and his love for his son just made me melt. Shea also writes about relevant issues, dealing with autism both as a child and adult. Her ability to create awareness as we enjoy these characters is a tribute to her writing. This is going in my top listens of the year.
Her casting of Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb could not have been chosen better. These characters are so authentic and the narration reflects it. Paige comes in as Isaac, who is passionate in all aspects of his life. Full of emotion, Isaac's feelings come through and steals your heart. Cora is strong, and compassionate. Each scene, Cora is that woman you want to know, and Lamb brings out that personality perfectly. I loved this team, their voices fit together well and made this a fantastic listen.

Character driven and full of heart
Fair notice that I have been waiting anxiously for this book because I loved Cora from the 3 Ugly Guys books and i was so happy to receive a copy of the audiobook upon request. And this book celebrated her wonderful spirit and heart. I love when books have such amazing characters that I wish they were real so I could be friends with them. And Kacey Shea paired Cora with the perfect man for her- Issac, a barista, jack of many trades and single father is a sweetheart but one who is juggling so much, he's at his wit's end. They were wonderfully sweet together but had amazing chemistry and their relationship unfurled in a real way- the author showcased many of the obstacles I feel they may realistically have had to deal with given her superstar status and his home issues. I smiled for most of the book, teared up during a few chapters, and swooned for much of the book. The supporting cast, including some of my favorites from the Off-Track Records series, was great and overall, I know I'll be rereading/relistening to this book again.
Tim Paige and Lessa Lamb narrated the book and they were fantastic. Both had the perfect voices for the characters and they were able to play multiple characters flawlessly and infuse emotion consistent with the story. I really loved their narration, which further elevated an excellent story.
