Sweet Story

This is such a good book and the Audible version is so enjoyable. It is very well narrated by Carolyn Kashner, who has done many of Linda Weaver Clarke's Audible books. It is really fun and relaxing to just listen and enjoy while cooking, cleaning, walking or whatever you choose. And even when driving to work. I really enjoyed it and am sure you will also! It is a sweet, clean and Christian romance.

When Felicity arrives at home after her father's passing, she finds her mother's new and somewhat mysterious neighbor who her mother has befriended and seems to have plans for.

This book has some romance, and some mystery and is a historical novel, starting out in the 1830's. I enjoyed this book and the characters very much. It's a sweet and clean book and is a great read. I am sure you will love it, too!

I received an Audible Version from the author. All thoughts are my own.

love while solving a mystery

A romance set in the 1800s with a mystery woven into the story. It revolves around Felicity and Nicholas. Loved the descriptions of the characters, town, and the balls they attended. I listened to this book on audible and really enjoyed the narrator's voice. Very soothing and easy to keep track of the different characters. I was stumped at who was the thief but this made it even more enjoyable for me to listen to - love following the couple try to figure out who it was.

An Outstanding Emotionl Treasure!

“One Last Dance” by Linda Weaver Clark is the first book in the Willow Valley Series of historical romance novels. I was given a review copy of this audio book treasure and I went through it quickly because I absolutely loved it! One of the most outstanding features of this sweet historical romance is the authenticity of the settings, customs, class distinctions, and manners of its time frame, 1835. The heroine is a talented artist named Felicity Brooks who returns to her hometown to take care of her mother after her father passes away. While there, she meets her dashing next-door neighbor, Nicholas Adams, the hero. Another gripping and fantastic feature of this novel is the way the author deals with emotions. They are genuine and believable. Then, there is also a dimension of mystery to this book, as well, which is incorporated beautifully by the author. The narration by Carolyn Kashner is smooth and enjoyable. “One Last Dance“ was inspired by a dream that Linda Weaver Clarke had about her father. The way that she so generously shares her emotional experience makes this story uplifting, inspiring, and unforgettable. I look forward to reading more from this fine author.

my review

The first installment of Linda Weaver Clarke’s new series is more than a romance as the title suggest. Felicity Brooks returns home to take care of her mother after her father dies, upon returning home Felicity meets the handsome neighbor Nicholas Adams. There have been a series of break-ins to her mothers’ house like someone is searching for something. Nicholas and Felicity join forces to figure out what is so valuable of her fathers to steal. Soon Nicholas and Felicity find themselves falling in love with each other. You will enjoy this sweet romance with a mix of mystery and colorful characters. I also liked how this book began and ended with 'one last dance'. The author gave me a free copy of this book on Audible in exchange for an honest review.

Okay

This book was okay. I struggled to get into it but the second half was better. I struggled because some of the language felt like modern phrases in a historical setting. The story was sweet and the characters were charming and caring.

A lovely historical romance and mystery.

This was a lovely read and it bodes well for the rest of the series.
I've listened to many productions by Carolyn Kashner and I've enjoyed her narration each time. She really brings the characters and the time period to life through her performance.

This book has my favourite genres, historical, romance and mystery.
Although I enjoyed the romance what I liked most was the mystery. Intrigue and suspense kept me hooked and I loved the air of mystery behind a few of the characters. It kept me guessing to the end and of course it had a sweet, happy ending. This is one of my favourite books by Linda Weaver Clarke. More of this please. :-)

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.
