Publisher's Summary

A lie is a welcome mat for the devil....

Kate had high hopes when she moved to her husband‘s hometown, but her domestic bliss was short-lived. Blindsided by her spouse’s public affair with his high school sweetheart, Kate’s determined to hold onto custody of her kids and pull herself together. When Kate’s struck in the head by a drone at her son’s soccer game and face-plants in the grass, it’s more than her self-esteem that’s shattered. The drone’s footage reveals that someone is stalking her. And though the handsome detective she’s falling for vows to protect her, Kate knows to be wary of any man making vows.

With things spiraling out of control, she tells a lie. It was only One Little Lie, but her grandmother always said, a lie is a welcome mat for the devil, and with the one she told, Kate just rolled out the red carpet. Everything she worked for begins to unravel, along with her sanity. Confused, alone, and afraid, can Kate untangle the web of lies and unmask her stalker, or will she lose everything - including her life?

Narrators Voice is SO Irritating

The narrator ruins every book she narrates. Her voice.. the way she pronounces words like "HEAD." It's so vocal fry and grates my nerves! I will never listen to another book narrated by Amy McFadden.

Horrible narration

I can’t get past chapter 4. The narration is just too bad. I don’t enjoy “snarky” the only tone she knows.

Boring!

This book just didn't hold my interest, unfortunately! Thank goodness I'm a fan of Amy McFadden and she was the only reason I finished. The story was just slow. nothing thrilling and chilling. Well check out what others are saying and roll the dice. Happy listening

A lie that spirals….

What was supposed to be a side gig turns horribly wrong for Kate Gardner. When the drone that she’s product testing falls on top of her, a mortified Kate doesn’t admit to its ownership. That lie spirals once the drone footage shows someone stalking her. As the stalker escalates, one police detective is skeptical and the other sympathetic. Doesn’t hurt that the detective is a hottie! Kate’s ex and his girlfriend…his high school sweetheart…seem to enjoy manipulating and tormenting Kate. Kate’s ex MIL is aloof but I found myself liking her take-no-prisoners attitude…and I especially liked that she gave Kate the, metaphorical, kick in the pants to stop being a doormat and fight for her life! Good story and the ending leaves you wanting more!

We Didn't Know?

The overall plot was predictable. Maybe only a little was a surprise. Yet, I still enjoyed the recording.

Drawn out and too predictable

Sorry this is not my usual kind of review. I skipped 45% of the book and like a soap opera I still figured out what was going on without going back and reading/listening to the story. It was not what I had hoped for.

I struggled to get through this book.

The narrator's voice is absolutely irritating and I will definitely try to avoid books read by her in the future. The story had an absolute moron as the main character but I guess that's the only way you could have dragged out this absolutely predictable storyline.

This Book should have been an email

SOOOO many words to tell a completely ridiculous story and the narration is done in a way that sounded like someone with a deviated septum AND Sinus infection was trying to read it. All of the “voices” used are beyond irritating. Complete waste of a credit!!

Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies.

However, if you asked me if I loved this book, it would be no lie, when I tell you I really did. Like any good mystery, it is true, people are often not what they seem...but sometimes they are!
