Publisher's Summary

Claire Summers is a determined, independent single mother who is doing her best to make lemonade out of the lemons life has handed her. Keith Watson is a results-oriented workaholic with no time for a social life. As the executive assistant to a local philanthropic businessman, he's used to fielding requests for donations. But when a letter from Claire's 11-year-old daughter reaches his desk, everything changes. The girl isn't asking for money, but for help finding the long-lost son of an elderly neighbor.

As Keith digs reluctantly into this complicated assignment, he has no idea how intertwined his life and Claire's will become - nor how one little girl's kindhearted request will touch so many lives and reap so many blessings.Through compelling characters and surprising plot twists, Irene Hannon offers listeners this tenderhearted story of family connections that demonstrates how life is like lilacs - the biggest blooms often come only after the harshest winters.

Very Heartwarming

I loved this story. It is my first read for this author. I found both the story line and narrator to be intriguing and added the right amount of inflection bringing tears to my eyes. If you think you know what's coming you you will be very surprised.

Good faith based story

I enjoy faith based books that tell stories that could come from the everyday realities of life which this story did so well.

It was fine

It was fine. It was a little too much broccoli and not enough cotton candy for my liking. I won’t be listening to another Irene Hannon. I prefer characters who are more vivacious and amusing.

This was so booooring..

I couldn't finish it. :/
Also I'm sorry but the narrator's voices were weird and didn't make the characters interesting. More like annoying. She must be great for narrating some books for kids. But not a romance.

Loved it!

I’ve read many by Irene Hannon. This is my favorite. There is an exploration of the complexity that of regretted decisions, and the importance of forgiveness, of self and others. The themes resonated for me due to my personal history. There were also two sweet love stories and the requisite happy endings.
