Publisher's Summary

The guide to creating simplicity in your world and developing a discipline for life, now in an expanded edition.

One Word explains how to simplify your life and business by focusing on just one word for the entire year. The simplicity of choosing one word makes it a catalyst for life change. Clutter and complexity lead to procrastination and paralysis while simplicity and focus lead to success and clarity. By celebrated authors Dan Britton, Jimmy Page, and Jon Gordon, One Word That Will Change Your Life shows you how to cut through to the core of your intention for the next year. It offers an action plan and simple process to discover your word for the year. It also explains how your one word will impact the six dimensions of your life - mental, physical, emotional, relational, spiritual, and financial.

This second edition includes even more stories demonstrating the impact of embracing the One Word call to action. It explores the legacy of taking a focused approach to your life and outlines six new dimensions to the Action Plan.

  • Includes additional material on developing the One Word for teams and families, specifically how a group of people can also have a One Word
  • Demonstrates how to establish a simple, disciplined, and focused approach to the next year of your life

Discover how to create simplicity in your world and develop a discipline for life through the power of One Word.

Great concept but...

way too much about god. I am not religious so the whole idea that I need to pray to God for God to send me my word was lost.

Bold

I have been using this book and sharing it with others since I found it. This is a quick listen and can you you focus on the year in front of you. One word for one life for one year. I could never remember the long list of goals I set. But I can remember one word and that can change my outlook on everything.

Great!

I first read this book 4 years ago and have selected a new word each year since. Implementing the One Word truly does change your life. I was delighted to see it in audio in the half-price sale.

Wonderful Idea / Plan!

Overall this is an excellent book for focusing on what is critically important to you in your life. The concept is simple and memorable, and the steps are (almost) a “no-brainer”.

This book follows the very common formula being used by many contemporary “self-help” books that are being peddled to put out some great ideas that are simple at their core. Long intro to the concept followed by the concept. Then testimonials and motivational language plump up the number of pages and take a concept that would (probably) fill out a 10-20 page document and create something that looks more like a book, albeit a short one.

Is it a great idea that can transform your life? It most definitely is. Is the concept presented with an elegant economy of words? Not even close.

Tl/dr: Get the book. Don’t get frustrated with the fluff.

not worth it

love the concept but waste of time listening - waffle/repeat. if it had been longer than an hour I couldn't have listened to the whole book. you can get the full message from the title. disappointing.
