Publisher's Summary

Kyle Fasano has it all: a loving wife, two children, and a house on the hill. Still, for one night it's not enough. Risking everything, he has a fling with a woman from the office. He knows better, but she offers a simple temptation.

Napoleon Villa has very little: no real family, no real home. A veteran detective for the LAPD, he is a gray wolf in an ever-darkening world. When the call comes in that a young woman has plummeted to her death at the Los Angeles Hilton, it seems like just another case.

Both men are running from something, and both are on a collision course. Fleeing his affair at the Hilton, Kyle runs into a stranger dressed in gray and possessed of heavenly powers. He tells Kyle something he never expected to hear: to save his soul, Kyle must prevent his first love - whom he hasn't seen in over 20 years - from making the same mistake he has. For Napoleon, it all comes down to a case long closed but forever open in his mind: that of a child murderer he failed to stop in time.

Now, pursued by a detective with nothing to lose, Kyle Fasano, with everything to lose, is about to learn that with every choice there are consequences. And sometimes there can be hell to pay - literally.

Just WOW!!

Great story of sins and redemption performed by an awesome narrator. it grabs from the first page to the cliff-hanger ending. A satisfying ending, but you'll be jumping on Audible for the 2nd book immediately for the rest of the story...

Waste of time!

Hard to finish this book...no redeeming qualities. I feel badly saying this but it’s true.

Maybe Just Not My Taste

I think for the right person this is a good book. For me however, I was counting down until the end. I almost just looked up the spoiler and didn't finish it. If you like a spiritual/religious mystery then you'd probably like this book.

Hard to review

I gave this book five stars because I loved the story. Right from the start it is a total page turner. The narrator does such an amazing job bringing all of the characters to life. I couldn't stop listening! I didn't want to drop it down to four stars, but........it is tough dealing with the cliff hanger at the end. I didn't pay attention to see if it is part of a series. I hope so.

Narrator was surprisingly good then...

....I was let down be the ending....again. Maybe I’m just sore from the last two books that I Listened too. I was let’s down by the endings. Love the story though! I also appreciated the narrator, my first time listening to him. I’m usually a Bray, or Kevin Pierce fan, and will listen to anything that those too narrate! Shout out to the author as well, besides the ending, I felt the book was extremely well written!

Sweet Baby Jesus!

Sweet Baby Jesus! What did a man have to encounter to create a work of art such as this!
Amazingly written! The twist on the plot caught me by surprise and the ending...like I said...Sweet Baby Jesus!

This genre of book isn't for me

My poor overall review is not because I didn't care for this book, which I didn't. It is because it falls into the genre of fantasy or supernatural and not what it seemed from the description. Please Audible, try to do a better job of classifying works so that we can select titles we will enjoy.

Not loving this one

I just fall on the side of not loving this book. It just goes on and on and on without having the story move forward to any degree. The narrator is nice, clear and succinct. But doing different characters is not something he is strong with. Some voices are just odd. I did get this one free but I just don't think I can finish it.

Ridiculous!

This is one of the worst books ever! The story and dialog is absolutely stupid. Unbelievable what gets published.
