I'll be honest, I wasn't sure if this was going to be my kind of audiobook when all the sound effects started and at first I didn't enjoy them but once the story started going I found that I really enjoy it. It felt more like maybe an Audio play than an audiobook. By the time it ended I felt like I just watched a movie in my head which was pretty awesome. The story was flirty and fun if not a little too short. I would love to see more of these types of quick but sweet stories by Lauren Blakely because in the end I really enjoyed this one.

The narration or should I say production was great. I enjoyed all the voices and surprisingly the sound effects. The only thing I didn't love was the way the scenes changed, it just went quiet for maybe a few seconds too long and I kept wondering it that was it or if my phone stopped playing.

Sound effects with a story built around them

This story seemed to me like it was created to showcase sound effects, like a "create a story around these sound effects" challenge. The sound effects were the main presentation here, with the story revolving around them. I prefer the story to be the focal point, with the sound effects being added to enhance the enjoyment of the story.

There was no depth, no hook to pull you into the story. Scenes that weren't particularly interesting were fleshed out, while other scenes that would have been interesting faded to black. After a couple of times of this happening, it was obvious scenes that could include multiple sound effects were showcased over fully fleshing out scenes that would have propelled the story along and given the listener more insight into the characters.

I am not a fan of this type of production, however, it can be enjoyable with the right story. I just found this story lacking. When you take the sound effects away, there isn't much there to engage the listener.

Lauren Blakely did it again!

I do read books by other writers, but Ms Blakely has been drawing me in more and more these days. I don't picture his as a book when I'm hearing the narrators acting out everything. I saw this like she wrote a screenplay and hired the best of the best to take on this project.

I was just saying to some friends that I can't stand books where you can hear things in the background. I was talking about what I call "pew pew pew" books. You feel like you are in battle and need therapy after for PTSD. THIS on the other hand was like I was there with them. A vacation they were on was like I was with them from the comfort of my own bed where I usually listen to my books. Nothing was distracting with all the extra sounds in the background and I could picture everything happening in the story without having a narrator say anything like, "a guy walked into my bar the other day.." This was a really great listen and I would love to see/hear more of this from Ms Blakely in the future!

Boring

I really love the performance but the story line is really boring. Its moving way to fast and its way to predictable.

Like a radio novella

Fun and quick read, with a full cast and background acted noises, so very immersive. The love story was predictable but made fun by the way it was recorded. Recommended!

Love!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I loved the sound effects, the different voices of all the characters/actors, the sweet story line. It was a lot of fun to listen to! As if you were actually right there, smack bang in the middle of the story. I’d love to listen to more audiobooks like this one.

Unnatural, forced and cliché

This is a dialogue-lead very short story/drama as seen from alternating female and male main characters' point of view (there are barely any other characters). Most the lines felt forced and unnatural and I just didnt feel it worked. Feels very cheesy and clichéd but not enjoyable

Another lovely audiobook from LB

I loved this short audiobook! The multicast narration b6 some of my favorites was very good and made me realize how much I enjoy a full cast. The story was quick and sweet. Too short to deepen the characters but still enjoyable.

Quick, cute, and fun

This was more of a play than a story so it takes a little getting used to the fact that there is no narration just dialogue. It also includes sound effects that were quite distracting and at times made me lose focus of the actual dialogue. That being said, it was a sweet and fun story. A quick if you will, at just shy of an hour and a half. If you’re looking for fun characters, brilliant performers, and a cute story. Definitely pick this one up.

There were some fantastic voices in this production. Andi Arndt and Jason Clarke do the brunt of the dialogue and are wonderful as usual. Emma Wilder, Dan Bittner, and Savannah Peachwood have some fun parts. And then you add in the wonderfulness of Erin Mallon and Jakobi Diem as the friends to the heroine and hero to round it out perfectly. Cast wise, this was a home run.

A great free audible original

Story was predictable but the conversations flowed well and very natural.
The full cast was great, but the intermissions / links between separate conversations were too clunky.

Overall a great free audible original . Thanks

This was such a cute story! The only problem that I had with it, was there was way to much background noise! Like the waves and people talking
