Publisher's Summary

Hope is a four-letter word. Yet, I can’t help but hope that the Oracle will be the answer to what I seek.

But getting to the Oracle is no small thing as she resides in the center of the Blasted Lands - toxic waste, lava, and monsters. And as the alpha of our pride, it’s up to me to act responsibly and not get my people all killed.

Driving us from behind comes the desert goddess whose rage is centered on me, and with her is a new ally, who still holds my heart in his hands. One whose voice calls to me still.

Eyes on the prize, I will push forward, even though hope feels weak and pointless. Along the way, maybe my heart will heal; maybe I’ll bring my brother back from the dead; maybe this will turn out okay after all.

Or maybe I will lose everything, and everyone I hold dear, and discover I’m not meant to save anyone.

Hope might spring eternal, but she’s a right bitch as far as I can see.

Entertaining

Oracle’s Haunt is another great story in the Desert Cursed series. The snark is funny, the characters are likable, and the storyline is entertaining. I believe Mayer may take perverse pleasure at tugging on the heart strings of her readers. The narrator did a good job!

Love!

I love this series! The characters are great and have so many different personalities. I feel like I could be friends with them. There is plenty of action. Lauren Fortgang does a fantastic job with the narration. I could listen to her all day.

Another heart pounding adventure for Zam and her

Putting all of the pieces of herself together all while she is breaking apart Zam seeks to find a way to fix this messed up world she is living in. Maks is well and truly gone. Her Pride is large and strong for the most part. Ford is settling in to pack life and takes his role as enforcer very seriously. You would think that there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel but you would be wrong.

Another heart pounding adventure for Zam and her friends!

Love the story of Zam

This is a continuation of Zam's story. She is fierce and one of my favorite heroines . Shannon takes us on twists and turns but always leading us in the best way possible. Can't wait until the next book.

I Like It with a Big But

The story is well written like most SM novels. I like the main character and all of her sidekicks. It’s easy to imagine the world they inhabit. There is love and some romance, but it really is a war story. The gang gets out of one big battle with injuries and low health only to immediately fall into another bigger boss fight. And so it goes throughout the book. The flail is a weapon that would be coveted by gamers everywhere. A new member to the ragtag team is added and she is a strong, though she isn’t utilized as much as I would like. She is mostly like an after thought or a stop gap. Death is defied even when it wins.

Lauren Fortgang always turns in her best work with every story she narrates. There is no exception here, and she makes everything better than it would have been with anyone else.

I’m enjoying the series and will definitely be on to the next installment.

KAZ🇬🇧🖤😀 Good 📖 but! 🤔

I have listened to this series & have enjoyed it with the great mix of magical creature's & good character's here's my but Zam is forever going on about how she's been told all her life she's to wake & small to do thing's but she does them Also Lyla the tiny dragon is supposed to be so small she can curl up on Zam's lap or fit between the horse's ear's so how can she lift Zam straight up into the sky doesn't make sense to me & if she's so in love with Max why's she banging on about his brother Ford making her think stuff she shouldn't be thinking 🤔 Ok so I'm being picky I paid for the book's so can express my opinion Would reccommd this series so who care's right? Good narrator as well as storyline 😀

Headline is not optional

Enjoyed the book, however for me the pacing was off at points. Keen to see where this story goes though.
