Publisher's Summary

Victor Bayne never saw himself as husband material, but after an undercover stint as half of a married couple, he’s willing to give it a shot. Jacob Marks was eager to settle down from the get-go, so once Vic popped the question, the wedding should’ve been smooth sailing.

But new evidence has come to light that casts a pall over the whole affair: decades of psychic experimentation and intrigue. Vic would hardly be shocked to discover he’s been an unwitting test subject, but it’s not his name on the roster.

It’s Jacob’s.

Planning a wedding on short notice is challenging enough without a covert investigation. Vic can deal with premarital counseling, floral emergencies, and the world’s most annoying baker - but can he handle what he finds out about his other half?

PsyCop is an ongoing series filled with supernatural action and delightfully awkward humor - with a steady undercurrent of gay romance. It's best enjoyed in order, so if you're new to the series, start with PsyCop book one, Among the Living...and prepare for a hauntingly good time.

Series remains strong

A charming installment of Victor & Jacob dealing with family and ghosts from the past and present. The wedding details are lovely. Jacob’s sister Barbara and the Pastor are the standout secondary characters.

The psychic plot is mostly Jacob’s internal struggles, which is interesting given the POV is entirely Victor’s, so it required a deft touch and got it. It works because the guys pay attention to each other and have learned a lot about each other in previous books. I have no idea if the book stands alone, but it has been a while since I refreshed my memory with the previous installments and I found it easy* to re-engage.

Highly enjoyable, with lower angst and less strife than most of the series, but exactly what I was looking for after a year of pandemic.

Steam: Low. Most of the affection is G rated, but for an early round in the boudoir and a tumble in the car, which do have M/M on page details. The stay with Jacob’s parents explains the lull. It works though.

Narration: Well done as usual. Easily distinguishable voices and smooth to listen to.

(*Early on, I had a flash of confusing Victor & Jacob, here, with Cooper & Park from Charlie Adhara’s werewolf series, with one agent/ partner being a bit stuffy and muscular and the other being a wiry agent of chaos. If you like this series, you might like that one too.)

Fantastic as always.

Can't wait to see what's next! It feels like they are just getting started, and that's not common at this stage of most series.

Great story. Great narration.

This book was another great addition to to the Psycop series. Too many romance stories end when a couple gets together. One of the things I like best about the Psycop series is that the story began with the main characters making s connection, and the connection continues to strengthen. Each volume of the series adds more challenges to Jacob and Vic's relationship, and each challenge develops their characters and relationship a bit more.

This series takes place outside of Chicago, and I had flashes of my own stint in Wisconsin. The voices the narrator chose for the Wisconsin characters had my eyes rolling a bit. Yes, a few people still have that accent, but it makes me cringe to hear it. If I could just erase Fargo from memory.... Gomez Pugh is still a perfect fit for this series.

As usual, Price answered a few questions, but the mystery surrounding Camp Hell's origin is still growing. I can't wait to see what's next.

Simply Spectacular & Gomez Pugh is Amazing!

I've never laughed so hard during a Psycop novel! All the trappings of planning a wedding, plus all the spooky stuff Vic and Jacob usually get up to.

And as a bonus, almost the entire novel takes place in Jacob's home town. I adore the way JCP writes mid-westerners... it brings back such wonderful memories of living there. Two Heathers in the scrapbooking class, the Lutheran minister, and the diner with the crispiest hashed browns. Wonderful!

IMHO, while I'm sure one could read this series, I've waited for each one to come out in audio. Gomez Pugh does a spectacular job with these characters, and he truly gets JCP's sense of humor. What he adds to my enjoyment of these stories is immesurable.

Intriguing

This is such an amazing series which get more and more and more intriguing with each book.
It is must read as no surprise Jacob and Victor wedding plans are not quite the usual. Then it wouldn't be if you are also trying to unravel who you think you are?
Add to the mix the wonderful Gomez Pugh and you have a listen that must have been woven in heaven.
Jordan I salute you.

Still loving this 'verse after all these books.

It's rare that a storyline can be entertaining after so many books but this one succeeds. If you've been along for the ride so far, don't stop now! I highly recommend "Other Half" but only if you already know these characters. That's what makes this book such a treat. I've only "listened" to the last couple of books but the narrator does a great job! OK, he overdid the Wisconsin accents (but they were great Minnesota accents!)
Bring on the next book please!!

Another Gerat enty

if your a fan like I am this book will starch that psycop itch just right. Vick and Jaocb go through a very stressful time and I feel it ends in the best sorta way. (no spoilers here lol) But as always we have more questions then answers, but damn if I don't love Vick and Jacob, they are amazing.

An Amazing Series

It’s pretty random that I chose this book in the series to write a review. I have listened to the whole series so far. The story has been so engaging and the voice acting has been spot on and added SO much to the series. I am hooked. I don’t want this to end!!!

I love vic

This is such a fantastic series. I really love Jordan's writing and how much care she takes in the production and development of her stories. Gomez does another wonderful narration with characters who have grown up with each book. Start from the beginning and enjoy each book.
