Publisher's Summary

Other People’s Marriages is an absolutely pause-resisting and heart-breaking listen about the lies we tell to keep our loved ones close, from best-selling author Kerry Fisher.

Steph has spent decades building a family with her husband, Mal, and putting their family first. She is the glue that holds them all together, and she has convinced herself that she’s been happy...most of the time. But as she stands at her birthday party watching her husband talking about a wonderful marriage she doesn’t fully recognise, the doubts that she has been pushing down for so long begin to grow....

After the party, as Steph tries to gather her courage to leave Mal, she receives a letter from her old friend, Evie. Steph hasn’t spoken to Evie since a sunny weekend on a holiday beach 20 years earlier, when the two friends said things to each other that could never be unsaid. And now, Evie is seeking a reunion and a way to repair the friendship. But this reunion threatens to reveal a secret that could destroy two families.

Character Driven

I enjoy books like this so much. It is more about the characters than a plot. Actually the characters and their relationships ARE the plot. I also enjoyed reading about these women and their relationships at different points in their lives. Overall, I really enjoyed this book!

I absolutely loved it.

As a middle-aged woman myself, I relate to the story and truly enjoyed it. A must-read for every woman.

Thank you Kerry for writing books that are close to reality .

So good!

I loved this book so much! I was all 3 women at different points. I could NOT take the AirPods out! I work and I am raising 2 Grandchildren so that tells the tale right there. I truely felt every emotion these women had and shared. For 50 and above healing and perseverance and 50 and below prevention and or not waiting to long to make changes or get out!
It was a random pick but something drew me to this book. I’m so thankful it did! I am buying the actual book and hi lighting ALL the emotions it sparked in me. Well done Kerry Fisher. I will be listening or reading all your books! 🙌🏻

I almost gave up …

This is a depressing book about dysfunctional marriages and betrayal between friends and that’s why I almost returned it but something kept me going and I’m ultimately glad I did. I was glad because I was once in the same situation with a friend who’s husband screwed around on her … I told her and wound up regretting it.

Reading the Book Would be Better

It has a well written storyline. However, audiobooks are becoming performances, and the narrator uses the same voice for the main characters, making it confusing to understand who is telling their stories.

Enjoyed following the journey of three life-long f

I usually read psychological thrillers so this was a refreshing change and I really enjoyed it. The story of three women -- each different from one another, each with big differences in their marriages -- starting when they are young and following through life's ups and downs. Anyone who has friendships like those in this book are very fortunate.

Brilliant Author

I have read everything Kerry Fisher has written and her writing has yet to disappoint me. What I love is her stories are never the usual Woman meets a man, eventually fall in love and live happily ever after. I am bored of that cliche most novelist rely on. Kerry’s stories have depth and her observations about life and quite often death are spot on every time. If you have life experience you will appreciate that this author obviously has too. Narration spot on. Great book from start to finish.

Excellent audio book

This book is such a great study of relationships and how they affect our behaviour. It’s witty and well written with laugh-out-loud moments. I really engaged with the characters and loved their friendship group. Can’t wait for the next book!

Resonated with my own life

This book is so well written and Kerry Fisher really seems to have understood the trials and tribulations of marital life.
So many things in this book resonates with my own life. Divorce after 27 years of marriage, examination of my mortality when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer its effect on your family and friends. So after a divorce and a brush with cancer, yes you really do find out who your true friends are. I am so lucky to have two really good female friends who are friends through thick and thin who I love dearly. Friends ftom the past came out of the woodwork and more recent friends failed to step up to the mark. I am so glad that I am not the only one to experience hhese feelings and issues. A fantastic book. Thank you it was cathartic.

Loved 'Other People's Marriages'!

Related to so many moments in this beautiful heart warming, thought provoking book. Felt therapeutic in that I heard my own thoughts read aloud about certain subjects and experiences that reassured me I'm not alone and very much human. Did not want it to end. Thank You Kerry Fisher.x

Absolutely Sensational 😊

From start to finish, this book was just un-putdown-able!! I tuned into Audible every chance I got to see what happened next. It was just so good. I loved all the characters and also loved to hate Neil, Wendy and Mal.

I would love to think that as a 62 year old myself, on the brink (almost) of retiring, that I would have the courage and self-belief of Steph and Evie to jump into that approaching new chapter in my life and embrace it all. I love the narrator and how she brought the 3 female characters to life; in the way she changed her accent and her tone so that each character was easily identifiable when the spoke.

I hate the fact that the book is now finished and my anticipation every evening, when I came in from work, at finding out what happened next is now quelled!!

Roll on the next one.....

Loved it !

Absolutely loved this book. Was hooked in from the first chapter. Excellent story and narration. As a woman of 57, many of the characters' feelings and experiences resonated with me. I always enjoy Kerry Fishers' books. This is my favourite so far !
