Publisher's Summary

What's the first rule of reinventing yourself as a cool girl at a new school? Steer clear of your old crush.

A new school means a fresh start. So long Ronnie Smith, invisible tomboy, and hello Veronica, popular new hottie. This is my chance to finally be seen...and kissed. Yeah, that's right. I've never been kissed. But I mean to change all that now that I'm starting over with a new look and attitude.

The only problem? I'm not the only one from my old school who's transferred to Briarwood High. Drew Remi is here, too, and he's still the same wildly popular baseball star. He's also the only person who can ruin my new life. But he can only rat me out if he recognizes me....

So, why am I so upset when he doesn't have a clue who I really am?

Cute listen!

Have I mentioned lately how much I am loving Maggie Dallen? No? Well I have a serious girl crush on her work right now! I have devoured ever audio that I have found and they just keep getting better and better! This on is a YA romance that brings to light what it is like to be in high school and trying to figure out who you want to be. It touches on so many important high school moments from bullies to first love. It was truly amazing!

The narration was pure perfection! It is dual narration with Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley. Both narrators fit the characters perfectly and they brought out much emotion in their voices. The work was clean, clear, and well edited!

yes yes yes!!

I have recently found and fallen in love with Maggie Dallen and her writing. This was different than the others in that it was YA/NA but it contained the same great humor, chemistry, and writing. She writes characters that you can't help but fall in love with. I love the natural way her writing flows. It is perfectly adapted for a wonderful audiobook!

The narration in this was fantastic! Lauren has such great timing and personality that she adds to her characters. Josh was a wonderful new addition for me. They both have voices that are perfect for audio- they are clear, entertaining and swoon-worthy. The production was clean, well edited and well worth a credit!

Sweet Young Love

I am throughly enjoying Maggie Dallen's audiobooks. The stories are well written with great characters. This is a sweet young adult story that I wish could have been longer. I look forward to more in this series.

Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley are great narrators. They were perfect in this audiobook. Easy to listen to for longer periods of time. I'm thrilled I got to listen to it without interruptions.

A sweet listen

This is my first audio that I have listened too without reading the book first.
It was a cute teenage book.
Loved by storyline. And the narrators did a good job. Easy to understand.
You get sucked into it and want to keep listening until you have devoured it all.
Veronica/Ronnie only wants to be seen. And drew is the star of the baseball team.
Suitable for those teenagers who are just starting out on the romance reads.

YA High School Moments

Out Of His League is a ya novel that touches upon the most significant high school moments. A endearing fluffy novel for readers looking for a zippy romantic fix. A bit of sports thrown in with high school melodrama. Character's are likeable & fun to learn about. Overall, a fun listen.

Narrators Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley portrayed the characters with their dual narration perfectly. I could feel the emotions as they brought out the characters voices. Tone and pace flows through smoothly. Aces performance.

Cute romance, good dialog

First loves are always good romances. I was a little disappointed the story gathered momentum for so long, to end so suddenly.

I also had a hard time with Drew going from utter in difference to V, (their whole lives) to true love in the same week...it just needed more development, more talk, a few dates even.

Over-all it was a cute story.

Great story and characters!

I enjoyed this story. It's a fun, entertaining young adult read. Ronnie is trying to figure out who she is in her junior year at a new school. She takes the chance to reinvent herself as more than just one of the guys and another jock. She wants to be seen as a girl, a dateable girl, by boys and has not had that happen at her old high school. Luckily she has some good friends that help her stay true to herself within this process. She runs into Drew, who she knows from growing up with him but he doesn't recognize her. I liked the way that the story developed and thought it handled some great aspects of being a teenager. The story is a fun one and can be read for pure enjoyment. It also has some good lessons that are blended into the story well. It's about how you can be more than people see you but that doesn't mean that you have to make a drastic change; that it's okay to not know exactly you who are and that you can explore and try different things and still be true to yourself.

Enjoyable, easy read

Goodbye Ronnie Smith, and hello Veronica. Reinventing yourself in a new school should be easy right? You don't know anybody, there are no expectations on who you are and what you are known for.. well that gets tanked when Veronica realizes she does know somebody.. Drew Remi has ruined all her plans to reinvent herself, or so she thinks..

This book was a bit cliché and cheesy but I was looking for that so it worked for me. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that Drew didn't put two and two together.. I mean how can you not. It seemed a bit far fetched to me, I can't imagine the transformation was that extreme..

Regardless, I enjoyed reading this book and the sweet nature and development of the relationship between the two.

This was my first book with these two narrators and I have to say I really enjoyed their voices, they were perfect for what I pictured in my head for these characters.

Charming Coming of Age Story.

Even though this is my first listen from Maggie Dallen, I'm just going to call it: she's the Queen of YA romances! Everything was seamless from start to finish. I didn't even realize the story was wrapping up until the epilogue. Ronnie and Drew have known each other their whole lives, but lost touch when he started becoming popular and then moved away for a year. Sick of being the tomboy, and wanting something more, Ronnie enlists the help of her best friend's girlfriend to transform her into Veronica, the hot new girl.

I truly believed in Ronnie and her goals. Glad she still has a set of really great friends from her old school to support her. Starting over fresh at Briarwood High, things seem to be going as planned for our girl, until Drew shows up. Now she's actively going out of her way to avoid him whilst navigating a new social crowd, the popular people. I felt bad for Drew though. The old adage "it's lonely at the top" comes to mind. Eventually, they reconnect as friends and start to grow secret feelings for each other.

The books I typically read focuses on hormones and instant physical attraction, so it was refreshing to see that the basis for their relationship started off with friendship! The two main characters are really sweet together. I found myself rooting for them; the romance wasn't saccharine or over the top. Simply put, if I could describe the listening experience I had in one word, it would be delightful. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer

Stand alone story

This was a cute story for a PG-13 audience. There were a few references to (but not descriptions of) hookups or sexy times. It had some sweet themes/questions, including reinventing yourself for others.

I listened to the Audible version. Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley did a great job with the narration and were able to do young character voices well.

A really sweet story with superb narration

This is such a sweet story. I love the characters and it is so nice to hear the story from both the male and female side of things. I Iove knowing what is being thought before the characters do! I'd like to spend more time with them.

Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley do a superb job of bringing these characters to life. So much so that I forgot I was listening to them!

Out of His League

A perfect high school romance with a small piece of second chance in there two. Trying to fit in at school is always hard and trying to figure out who you are in the mix is even harder. Luckily for us Veronica is ready to figure that out with new beginnings at a new school. I love watching this budding romance unfold and the ending was perfect.

Sweet High School/YA 💘 Story

I thought this was a very sweet HS/YA romance story. You have Ronnie, who has always felt her fellow classmates only seen her as a tomboy. So, for her Junior year of High School, she wanted to be seen as a young woman and have the chance to experience all the "1st" that she hasn't experienced yet as Veronica.

Veronica attends the high school on the other side of town, where no one knows her; she thought, until her best friend let her know that the guy she has been secretly crushing on; Drew, attends the school.

Veronica does everything she can to avoid Drew, while she does get noticed by many guys. Drew feels he knows Veronica but don't understand where from until his sister recognize her as Ronnie. Now, Drew was on a mission to show Ronnie/Veronica, that she is fine being just herself. That she can play sports and still be a "girly girl" all in one. Drew also let Ronnie know that he liked her and wanted to be with her.

This was the first book that I've read by Maggie Dallen and I really did enjoy it and the narrator's Lauren Fortgang and Josh Hurley, was my first time to hear them read. They did a really good job! I definitely would recommend this book to others.

Sweet!

This coming of age/young adult story is told in dual point of view by Ronnie, who is trying to reinvent herself as Veronica as she becomes the new girl in a new high school, and Drew, who was a childhood friend of Ronnie's before moving away in middle school. They end up at the same high school where they struggle with friendships, teenage drama, romance and life in general. Both Veronica and Drew are likable and relatable.

I loved this story and feel like it accurately portrays the thoughts and feelings of many teenagers as they go through high school. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves YA romance. Lauren and Josh did a great job of bringing this story to life.

Fun!

Good story. Well written and preformed. I did feel like a few scenes were forced and didn't like how whiney the Mc could be at times. Overall, I did like the meaning of the story, about how everyone is always changing. Very true.
