Publisher's Summary

Everyone wants to be loved - to find someone who will stick with them through all of life's ups and downs, someone who is in it for the long haul. But in a world where dating is increasingly based on split-second decisions and geared toward casual relationships rather than marriage, it's easy for single people to feel discouraged, used, or unworthy of true love and lasting affection. Reality just never seems to match up with our (often wildly unrealistic) expectations.

Jonathan "JP" Pokluda has counseled thousands of young singles through the pain and heartbreak of dating the world's way. Now he wants to dispel the myths, misconceptions, and fairy tales you've believed about dating and replace them with the truth from the One who invented marriage, created you to crave relationship, and is the very embodiment of true love. With plenty of true stories about relationships healed and love found, this practical book explains God's purposes for singleness, dating, and marriage and covers why you should date, who you should date, and how you should date.

If you're ready to trade the world's way of dating for the way that actually works, it's time to begin dating well.

Want to know how to really date this is the book

I love he can make things simple, step by step backing up with scripture and explaining why it is best to things that way instead of what the major of dating is out there. This book was so great I brought a hard copy and will do the beak downs of the each character and study with my church group

Well good info but man ear fatigue is real.

Listened to this book over a few days. Performance wasn’t that great. Stressed me out. I wanted to tell him take a breath, change your pitch. Content is good information though. Performance is lacking quite a bit.

Impactful

As a prospective pastor, 31, this is a very good book for anyone who is new to the faith or even just getting started with their relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit and the Bible’s teachings in general. The book is balanced with practical wisdom and most importantly backed with the more popular Biblical passages that help with relationship advice.

Written for the world we live in today

Pokluda writes to the generation that is navigating relationships TODAY. Super practical and biblical, looking to the Word of God for answers, not someone’s opinion.
It’s also short and sweet, not dragging too long on one point or topic.

Single people of all ages, whether never married or divorced, read this book!

Amazing! I have been married more than once. And am asking myself what am I doing wrong? Why can’t I stay married? Maybe I should just stay single.
I am 61 and want to be in love and married.
God dropped this book into my hands. It was given to me by my daughter who came upon this book by chance. My daughter didn’t buy the book and she gave it to me.
I now know I was dating all wrong. I was not dating intentionally.
Read this book if you are dating.
I am starting to read the book a second time.
Whether you are dating to be married or just dating for fun. Either way this book is life changing.
Read the book single people!

Not bad

I thought overall it’s a good book but some ideals are a bit outdated and others were just way out in left field, but there are some points in here that did make a lot of sense. Take it with a grain of salt
