A Good Installment

This was a good installment but as short as the others. Also, like the others, the translation is stiff and the narrator is terrible. However, once you look past all that, the general story is enjoyable. In this installment, we get to see Sebas be his awesome self, and we also get a peek at Clime, Brain, and the princess.

Love the story, writing needs help

I love Overlord, I got hooked on the anime first and was delighted when Audible started adapting Japanese light novels. If you like "fantasy video game world turned real" stories, you'll probably like this. However, if you need the story to also be well written, this could drive you nuts. The writing quality of the series reminds me of high school fan fiction. I'll put up with it here just like I did with the fan fic to get the story (I've already pre-ordered the next volume), but I wish there could be an "adapted" (rather than straight translation) version that cleans up the writing.

All that said, the narrator does a good job with the material. My only complaint is that I wish he wouldn't use the main character's "voice" for other characters.

Short and slow

At this glacial pace it will take 100 books to catch up to the light novel and the anime.

Sebas is the man!!

Loved it! Adds so much background and story to the characters you see such little about.

Localization inconsistencies

Translator confused 'R' and 'L' sounds in the names. Cocodoll became Cocodoor, Succulent became Securante or something like that. I guess they felt the original Japanese was too corny, but let's have accurate translations, thanks.

More names pronounced wrong.

Yes this is a good audio book. Moving on.

There are fewer noticeable inconsistencies but the names have gone through a wringer. Some seem to only be half translated from Japanese. This stands out as this audio book came iut about 3 years after the show. It is annoying that this becoming more common.

On the upside there are few odd word choices for repeated terms. I did not hear justice kills the undead.

Excellent reader great story

I really enjoy the overlord story but the reader makes this an extremely enjoyable experience. Not like the disappointing performance in shield hero this guy reads the book in a way that inmerses you in the story.

the performance is fine, but the story is so spam

the story writer just keeps adding tons of fluff that doesnt matter so they can sell more books. ill put up with it but im leaving a 1 star review every time they do this.

Better narration

Narrator has improved. Female voices sound more natural and now only slightly disturbing. Maybe because the scenes in this book are less emotional and the narrator doesn't feel the need to overdo the voices.
Story is great, naturally.

Best book so far

Brilliant as they all have been, Chris Guerrero is pretty much the best reader on here too. I love the stories that stray away from Nazarick and this one, and the introduction of Climb is one of the best.
