Story
Cameron Hanes discovered his true passion for bowhunting when he was twenty. Inspired by the physical challenges of stalking elk in the Oregon wilderness—traversing mountainous terrain, braving erratic weather, and evading his quarry’s even more dangerous predators—he began an ever-evolving journey of self-improvement. To become the best bowhunter of wild elk, to the caliber he believed he could be, Cam realized he would need more than archery skills.

After Eric Davis spent over 16 years in the military, including a decade in the SEAL teams, his family was more than used to his absence on deployments and secret missions that could obscure his whereabouts for months at a time. Without a father figure in his own life since the age of 15, Eric was desperate to maintain the bonds he'd fought so hard to forge when his children were young - particularly with his son, Jason, because he knew how difficult it was to face the challenge of becoming a man on one's own.

Not for audible
Sleep as much as you can and take naps when you’re tired...
Drink water as soon as you get up in the morning...
Eat a well balanced diet of fresh unprocessed foods...
Workout using a blend of movements and exercises...
Smoke weed...
Have sex...
I just saved you 10 hours. It’s great Aubrey’s Onnit thing has taken off and changed. I’ve listened to him on a few podcast and he’s charismatic with some decent thoughts and theories which is why I can see he’s successful in business. However nothing in the book is groundbreaking. Everything he mentions has been around in the fitness circles for years. Sleep long, eat well, drink plenty water, has sex and exercise. Maybe the paperback version would have some good reference material for someone who has never read a Health and wellness book before but the audible version sounds like a plug for his company and it even feels like at times he’s bragging about his awesome ‘Own it’ life. If I were getting a complete motivation book about owning the day and being the best ‘you’ I would pass on this one.

It's one persons view on how to live well
I've read many self help/improvement books over the years. I'm always cautious when reading a book written by supplement pushers because the science they cite is always in line with the products they sell. I've learned about Onnit, "Aubrey's" current company from the Joe Rogan podcast. I used Aubrey in quotes because his real name is Chris in which he claims he changed after his experience with Ayahuasca, a hallucinogen used in a religious ritual. Personally, I think he changed it to distance himself from a former business model, adult toys, specifically the "fleshlight" that he was part of with his step father. Ya, seriously. Regardless, the book does have some helpful information and common sense knowledge like getting plenty of rest and playfulness with your partner. The book seems to be written for his peer group or those aspiring to be there. I'm referring to hipsters who buy $30 yogurts, like Aubrey does, just to try it on a whim. It's definitely worth a listen too, just be ready for a lot of "Who has time for this s#$t?" while your driving moments.

A collection of tidbits muled over...
I think the editors should have consulted the Author not to publish, and instead - change a subject completely. I would love to read a story of ONNIT creation, struggle and current development instead. This material is often an insult to one's intelligence. I read all poor reviews before purchasing the book, but as a consumer of ONNIT I wanted to hear the story for myself. Yes, I did not finish. The material is shallow, a tidbits of general knowledge if you even try to stay fit and healthy. So bad, it is never good.

Perfect mix of science and advice.
What did you love best about Own the Day, Own Your Life?
This is probably the best book I've read for quick actionable advice on how to improve your life and feel better. The best thing about the book so far(I'm halfway through) is that it's a great mix of science with advice. You're given things to change immediately with a quick argument on why you should change these things. Most books I've read so far lack one or the other. It's either a broad do these few things with a ton of scientific research, or a huge list of things to do with not enough research that leaves you questioning the advice. This book has a perfect dose of actionable advice and scientific background supporting the ideas behind the advice.
As a bonus Aubrey breaks it down to a day which makes the advice even more relatable and simple - great book!

Don’t buy the hype. Nothing new here.
No real new information here. He’s talking about being “unconventional” “ground breaking” etc., while talking about kettlebells, benefits of naps, and drinking water when you wake up.
...it’s 2018...we know.
So I wonder who this book is for? I think maybe really young (because of his bro metaphors and forced cuss words) people who haven’t ever looked into any personal growth books, the basics of nutrition, or have never stepped in a gym. I’m a 31 year old decently healthy guy, and it seemed like he just took common knowledge from the last 10 years and presented them all as something revolutionary.
Also, a lot of what he recommends and talks about he also sells in some way, shape or form in his brand store. As well, he advocates eating processed meat, bacon, butter...and just some overall 2012 era nutrition ideas. Eh *refund*

Simplistic and self-indulgent
I wanted to like this book. I really did. I've been following the plethora of information on optimizing diet, sleep, exercise, etc. for the last decade and this looked like an innovative way to provide a prescription for actually integrating these theories into real life.
I tried. I sat through Marcus extolling Tony Robbins and Bode Miller as paradigms of good living. I sat through him spending an entire chapter advising us to take a cold shower every morning just to the point of passing out. I sat through a completely gratuitous description of how Marcus and his wife engage in naked tickle fights every morning. Really. I sat through him, after pages of talking about all kinds of complex physiological functions, say, "Obviously, I am not qualified at all to talk about the menstrual cycle" (because he's male?). I sat through him list all the supplements he takes that we should also take and buy from his company. But when I got to his section proclaiming all news media bad ... painting everything from NPR and the New York Times to partisan talk radio with the same broad bush and telling me that I'll get more from listening to podcasts -- apparently ANY podcast -- than from going to college, and again promoting his friends' and his podcasts, that was it.
Returned for a refund.
