Classic goodness

Definitely not the movie, but you can see how they pulled bits and pieces from all the books to make it. In particular I was interested in the Oz books based on the book The Number of the Beast by Robert A. Heinlein, which is one of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors. (I've also read all the Barsoom books as well, for the same reason). While the books are, for obvious reasons, dated, they are still great fun to listen to, but the character of Tik Tok's portrayal is annoying as all get-out, and pulled me completely out of the story . Also, there's a couple of places where the sound quality changes for large portions of the performance, as if they pulled old radio equipment out of storage and used it for this. Subtle, but there, and not enough to pull me out of the story for more than a moment or two.

Phil Chenevert plus Frank Baum make these stories!

I listen to them repeatedly. And I am 51. Phil Chenevere is the only narrator I love; he brings Frank's stories and characters the best possible life they could have!

Not a genuine reading. Electronic and weird.

This is terrible. we just started in the middle of The Marvellous Land of Oz because that's where I was up to in the tangible copy. it sounds like it's being read by a robot. The timing and intonation is all wrong. Rubbish and disappointing.
