Story
Homicide detective Bryan Clauser is losing his mind. How else to explain the dreams he keeps having - dreams that mirror, with impossible accuracy, the gruesome serial murders taking place all over San Francisco? How else to explain the feelings these dreams provoke in him - not disgust, not horror, but excitement? As Bryan and his longtime partner, Lawrence 'Pookie' Chang, investigate the murders, they learn that things are even stranger than they at first seem.

Story
A teenage girl awakens to find herself trapped in a coffin. She has no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there. Fighting her way free brings little relief - she discovers only a room lined with caskets and a handful of equally mystified survivors. Beyond their room lies a corridor filled with bones and dust but no people and no answers. She knows only one thing about herself - her name, M. Savage, which was engraved on the foot of her coffin. She finds herself in charge. She is not the biggest among them or the boldest, but for some reason the others trust her.

Story
Ataegina was an isolated world of medieval castles, varied cultures, and conquests, vibrant until the demons rose and spread relentless destruction. Swarms of lethal creatures with black husks, murderous claws, barbed tails, and dreaded “tooth-tongues” raged through the lowlands, killing 90 percent of the planet’s population. Terrified survivors fled to hidden mountain keeps where they eke out a meager existence. When a trio of young warriors discovers a new weapon, they see a chance to end this curse. To save humanity, they must fight.

Publisher's Summary
Scott Sigler's Infected shocked listeners with a visceral, up-close account of physical metamorphosis and one man's desperate fight for sanity and survival, as "Scary" Perry Dawsey suffered the impact of an alien pathogen's early attempts at mass extinction. In the sequel Contagious, Sigler pulled back the camera and let the listener experience the frantic national response to this growing cataclysm.
And now in Pandemic, the entire human race balances on the razor's edge of annihilation, beset by an enemy that turns our own bodies against us, that changes normal people into psychopaths or transforms them into nightmares.
To some, Doctor Margaret Montoya is a hero-a brilliant scientist who saved the human race from an alien intelligence determined to exterminate all of humanity. To others, she's a monster - a mass murderer single-handedly responsible for the worst atrocity ever to take place on American soil.
All Margaret knows is that she's broken. The blood of a million deaths is on her hands. Guilt and nightmares have turned her into a shut-in, too mired in self-hatred even to salvage her marriage, let alone be the warrior she once was.
But she is about to be called into action again. Because before the murderous intelligence was destroyed, it launched one last payload - a soda can-sized container filled with deadly microorganisms that make humans feed upon their own kind.
That harmless-looking container has languished a thousand feet below the surface of Lake Michigan, undisturbed and impotent...until now.
Part Cthulhu epic, part zombie apocalypse and part blockbuster alien-invasion tale, Pandemic completes the Infected trilogy and sets a new high-water mark in the world of horror fiction.

hard to stomach, but very well told
The whole trilogy is very entertaining. At times it's quite foul, disgusting, disturbing, stomach turning, vomitous…but overall entertaining and well paced.
I do cringe at the sight of a sign post.

I will never look at Triangles the same again
Would you consider the audio edition of Pandemic to be better than the print version?
I am a fan of the audiobooks. Due to my schedule and on the road a lot.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I really liked Margaret throughout the series. And she steps out more fully as a character in the third book.
Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Phil Gigante is one of my favorite narrators. Although Scott Sigler did the narration on books one and two in this trilogy, I had no problem with character identification in this book.
Any additional comments?
This trilogy grabs you and takes off like a rocket, but definitely should be read in order. 4 STARS

PUT YOUR PITY PARY TO BED
SPANK MY A SS AND CALL ME SALLY
All books by Scott Sigler are entertaining. This is my fifth, I have yet to be disappointed. This third book in the trilogy was written five years after the first two. The first two were written before the Zombie craze and have no Zombies. This book has sort of Zombies and is a lot better than book 1 and 2, of which both, were good. Reading book one and two is not necessary to enjoying this book.
THE WORLD IS ABOUT TO CHANGE
The Infected, remember their pasts when they were human. Some are very smart, some are strong, some are fast and none are rotting. They do eat humans. This is closer to Invasion of The Body Snatchers than a zombie thriller. Sigler must not like the Midwest, as he nuked Detroit in the last book and destroyed Chicago in this one. This book has science and explains how and why, more than other books of this type. It also has a little character development and some nasty twists and some gory stuff.
I AM MARRIED WITH TWO CHILDREN, I HAVEN'T SEEN MY BALLS IN YEARS.

A fitting end for an amazing series.
After putting this book down for a very long time, I picked it up again and I'm really glad I did.
One thing Scott Sigler does better than anyone else is put that knot in your stomach. That sinking feeling that "it isn't going to work out." That we're doomed. That bad things happen. That even main characters are expendable at all times.
This book starts out really slow and uncomfortable, which was why I put it down, but when you get into the story you realize how important those first few chapters are to the story. Without giving too much away, you spend most of this book going "Jesus Christ, how are they going to get out of this one?" Or "Oh my God, humanity is doomed." The lightbulb moments when scientists make progress make you go "Oh my God! We have hope!" You really feel invested in the whole story.
I loved this book way more than I thought I would initially. It might be my favorite in the series, the entirety of which is absolutely 100% worth reading if you haven't already.
Also worthy of note: That this is more "produced" than a typical audiobook made it so much more fun. I'm just wondering why if they were going to put all that effort into voices and modulating them, why not have a woman read the female parts?
Other than that, this one is a must-read and a must-listen!

Simply Brilliant
If you could sum up Pandemic in three words, what would they be?
Intelligent, unrelenting, brutal.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Why Dr Tim Feely of course. Read it and see why
Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances? How does this one compare?
Phil seems to improve with each production. Is voice is so smooth that you just fall into the story. His voice acting is great and he never misses a beat between characters. Some effects on the voice a little hard to make out but they sounded awesome.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book made me laugh out loud, cheer, shed a few tears, and the punch the air and cheer some more.
Any additional comments?
Scott Sigler never disappoints. It was the first book in this series that got me hooked on his work and this third part Pandemic as ended it every bit as dramatically. Although following a three book arc, each book has it own style and feel and sense of dramatic tension and desperation for the characters.
This book is an epic of carnage, chaos and destruction but at the same time is funny engaging and will make you shed a few tears as well.
If unfamiliar with the trilogy do yourself a favour and start with 'Infected' and I guarantee you will be back here very soon to snap up this ball busting adrenaline ride of a concluding tome!

I just loved this series, would recommand it to any horror fan out there. I was talking with my brother trying to convince other people it wasn't that gruesome but the more we talked about chapters the more we laughed with the horrible stuff that happened in the series. and they were watching us with disgust. I guess they don't like horror.

what a way to go!
Where does Pandemic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
best audiobook of 2014 so far
Who was your favorite character and why?
doctor feely good! such a contrast of characters traits all mixed up in one person makes for unexpected twists in the story
What about Phil Gigante’s performance did you like?
I first heard Phil Gigante perform Scott Siglers NOCTURNAL and it took me a couple of episodes to get used to his voice as its so deep, but he is very professional and draws you into the narrative until your fingers are clenched and your waiting with baited breath for what's coming next!
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
its an apocalyptic story so its going to have its gory moments that fill you with revulsion and fright , but it also has its lighter side that made me laugh out loud and a few where the story brought a tear to my eye
Any additional comments?
this is the 3rd in a trilogy so if you haven't read(heard) the first two I would definitely urge you to seek out the first two, if you haven't heard of scary Perry Dawsy and his eye watering scene with the chicken scissors then you haven't lived!

Great story
Where does Pandemic rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Having listened to most of Scott's work which is wrote and recorded by him I was a little worried about listening to a new performer but Phil Gigante did a great job on Scott's work.
Any additional comments?
I am not sure if it was because Scott was not the reader but the book did not feel as exiting and edgy as his other books. I would have liked Scott reading his own work but if it meant getting more books from the FDL with another reader, give me the books.

if this kind of thing (sci-fi/action/horror) is your kind of thing, I'd recommend the trilogy. Good characters and plot plus some enjoyable scenes

Someone's knocking at the door....
Well worth seeing this series through. Quite enjoyable and entertaining!
If you like incipient global catastrophe stories then this should be part of your collection.

brilliant story and excellent narrator, doesn't get much better then this..Scott siglar is with out doubt a very talented writer and definitely knows how to tell a story, would reccomend this book and the first two stories of this trilogy...well done mr siglar.

Ends with a whimper, not a bang
Ironic to review this in light of a real pandemic... interesting escapism but plot drags on many occasions. Narrator is OK but his range of voices very limited, & female voices all sounded the same!

Was this even the same author as infected?
What a disappointment. This book is not even on the same level as its predecessors. Honestly it just felt like a rushed job, especially when you hear the phrase "it was all he can do..." four times in the same book.

Fun
I really liked this series. Not to serious, graphic enough to tell the story but not unnecessarily gory. Just fun and fast.

Interesting Conclusion
Not as strong as the first two books. Ending is weak but examines how strong human emotion is to survive even against the odds.
