What he does mind, though, are the constant beatings from the city guards due to his friendship with Sarah, the city lord's only daughter. Great combo of great books
Story:
Excellent story of a character working to overcome his harsh beginnings in a really interesting world of multiple genre VRMMORPGs. LitRPG story but thankfully easy on the stat/skill progression, not 'crunchy, so you don't have to listen to 10 minutes of character sheet upgrades every couple of chapters. Just enough to know the general advancement of the characters.
Narration:
There's nothing to say about the narration other than to point out the narration team. All three of the narrators are amazing and great at bringing characters to life with individual, recognizable voices and mannerisms.

Completed trilogy all for one credit! A must for LITRPG fans!
If you are an avid reader of fantasy or LITRPG, if you are a gamer. This is a series for you. I love it as do my kids and my grandson (44, 15-23, 5urs old) so this has multi generational appeal. The writing is well done and the narration is great. The series has nods to games that all of us have played in at various times in our lives. The mc and his compatriots as well as his nemesis are well developed and easy to like/hate as required. The story line is well laid out and flows well. Personally I’d love to see it made into a set of movies or series. Our MC is a diamond in the rough who gets the break of a lifetime when he comes across a special treasure that opens up a whole new world/virtual world for him and his potential. Watching him grow in both strength and character is great and is a wonderful thing to follow. The trials and tribulations, relationships and such are all highly relatable. The messages delivered in regards to friendships, trust and the ideas that getting to the top via teamwork are all great. And all this is delivered in a nice gamer friendly crunchy fantasy and more setting. Can’t recommend it enough as well as his other works. Love them all! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Started like an average Litrpg but.....
After the beginning of the book I loved this story. I didn't like how the main character was able to team up with one of the most well-known streamers right off the bat. I love the world hopping and how the characters get to see different areas everyday. Not being tied down to one single world was pretty cool. I like the exploration as well as the NPCs who changed and we're almost like real players. I like feeling good after a story and this trilogy did it for me. I'll definitely look at the author's other works.

Basically a Young Adult version of Ready Player One.
Most of the story has parallels to Ready Player One and Ready Player Two. This is more of a Young Adult version of those books. It lacks the references to pop culture that RPO has and the characters are never really fleshed out at all. The main character has a deus ex machina power where everything seems to go right for him, with a small handful of inconsequential bad things happening to try to cover that up.

Living life in Pangea Online
The world went through a nuclear war and life was never the same again. Life did not end though. Massive housing units, nicknamed The Boxes, were created for the people that could not afford to move to an unaffected area. With so much of the world like this, most people retreat to virtual reality. Pangea Online has emerged as the dominant online game service, so much so that game currency is accepted as real world transactions. Esil is an orphan who recently aged out of the orphanage and works as a miner in the virtual mine. This is the only world most people in The Boxes have access to. This looks like what his life until he finds a treasure chest while mining that changes his life forever.
Pangea Online has my favorite VRMMO set up. Instead of being one game, it’s a set up of hundreds of game worlds that are connected together. Sports, shooters, fantasy, sci fi, racing, you name it! The characters are well done. There is a minor focus on poverty, but this is completely understandable as that is how the main character grew up. The trilogy is complete, but I would love to see a spin off to revisit Pangea Online. The narrator is fantastic!

Phenomenal story and values
No OP MC here just a boy who’s trying to find his place in the world he lives and the worlds he visits. Nothing handed to him on a silver platter, just a bit of good luck that changes his life and that leads him down a path of discovery, self development and ultimately giving back and helping those who were always by his side.
This book has it all. Leveling, world building, magic, different worlds of all types.
Amazing narration cast! The narrators give life to characters you can’t help but connect with and even relate to.
10 out of 10 this is a must listen for any fan of the genre!

You ordered adventure? Rowland delivers!
If you are into characters as shallow as a Kardashian, enough plot holes to make IN-DOT proud, HATE books where you can't go more than a page without reviewing Char stats, and think deus ex machina is VASTLY underused in LITRPG, this is NOT FOR YOU! Go on, GIT! Don't you turn around and look at me like that! Keep moving!
OK! If you've experienced any of Rowland's prior works, then you have at least have an idea off the ride you're about to take. ;) If you haven't, well buckle up buttercup.
The Writing: Esil may be an orphan, but this ain't no Dickens story, though in all fairness it IS a dickens of a tale! Light and fast: unlike a shift in the data mines, there are no endless grinds waiting for what happens next. Great characters that not only grow and change, but do so organically and in ways that make sense! No dreading that final chapter Dues Ex that ruins the story, it's all sparkly and what gets everything rolling in the first place! Fast paced, descriptive writing that lets you 'see' the story without getting bogged down in minutea! Enough Stats that you can 'feel' the growth and the danger, but not so heavy it feels like you're reading a DND manual.
The Story: This is the tale of Pip, and orphaned Blacksmith's son, who... Wait, no, that is in fact Dickens. Hang on. Ah yes! Esil, a completely different orphan, making his way in a 'bit' of a dystopian world slaving away in the digital mines. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Fortune smiles upon Esil, and he's given the opportunity to 'escape', travel the endless worlds of Pangea Online, change his life, and perhaps even the lives of those he holds most dear. Gets ya right in the feels, and then proceeds to keep hitting you there when it's not nailing you with shots of adrenaline!
The Narration... A word of warning there... Once you've exhausted all your searches for Rowland, you are most likely (or at least SHOULD be) going to be adding James, Hayes, and Winkel to your search terms in the future. They're pretty awesome, and they do a 'lil' bit of work on other LitRPG audiobooks. You could say they're artists who are literary drug dealer on the side... Well, maybe not you. I do, just did, whatever. Excellent dictation, voices, and emotive expression from all! Not a single Alexa or Ben Stien to be found.

Enjoyable series and great value
Pangea Online book one delivers an interesting premise, good world building and an entertaining cast of characters, making it well worth your money/credit. However, this is not just book one, it is an omnibus edition covering the first three books of this series in a package that continues to deliver on those good points, while significantly increasing the value of it at the same time.
The performance of the narrators works well on the whole, the multiple narrators blending well rather than being a distraction like it can be in some books.
Overall, a very enjoyable set of books that are now even better value
