Making the entitled rancher work a little is one thing...but actually liking the man is another. Falling for him? No way. And yet the passion between them is as undeniable as it is unexpected. Publisher's Summary
A one-time bad girl comes home to small-town Oregon in the first in a sexy, heartfelt new series from USA Today best-selling author Maisey Yates
Sadie Miller isn't expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straitlaced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her as if she's the same teenage hoodlum who fled town 10 years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man but to a bed-and-breakfast. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw.
Eli works too hard to let a blonde ball of trouble mess up his town. But keeping an eye on Sadie makes it tough to keep his hands off her. And if she's so wrong for him, why does being with her feel so right?

Endearing and Sweet
This was a very easy to listen to story. There was just enough heat, angst and drama to make this book interesting enough to listen to. If you're looking for good listen for a calm afternoon, this is your book.
The narrator is pleasant enough to make this an enjoyable listen.
It is worth the discounted price I paid. Not sure if I will continue with the series.

SLOW!
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
If you like the author you might like this one. It was first thing I've read by Maisey Yates.
Would you ever listen to anything by Maisey Yates again?
This is the first book I've read written by Maisey Yates. I might read the second book in the series just to see how it compares to this one.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lillian Thayer’s performances?
NO! I could hardly finish this one, I did not like her voices for the different characters, I found it very irritating.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Don't think so. When I finally finished it (it definitely wasn't a page turner), it left me kind of deflated.

Really enjoyed this series!!
For ages I’ve been wanting to listen to more audiobooks. Somehow I still didn’t do it. But since I signed up for a view audiobook tours, I decided I definitely needed to start listening to more audiobooks ASAP. So when I saw the first book in the Copper Ridge series available on Audible.com, I decided to start with that one. I read the second and third book in the Copper Ridge series a while back and loved it, so this sounded like a great ‘first’ audiobook for me.
‘Part Time Cowboy’ is the story of Sadie Miller and Eli Garrett. Sadie moves back to Copper Ridge after being gone for the last ten years. After moving from town to town for years, Sadie now signed a five year lease for running a Bed & Breakfast on the Garrett land. From the moment Sadie and Eli meet each other again they are surprised by the attraction they feel for one another. Especially since they really don’t seem to like each other.
‘Part Time Cowboy’ definitely was a fun story to listen to. I love stories about small town life, and Copper Ridge definitely is a fun small town. The main characters Sadie and Eli are fun. Sadie has been running for her past for years, and it was fun to hear how she slowly got used to being back in her childhood town. Eli was a little more difficult to like. I did like him almost immediately, but he was definitely pretending to be much harder and tougher than he really was.
After a lot of arguing between Sadie and Eli at the beginning of this book, which got a little too much if you ask me, the romance started getting better and better the further we got in the book. The chemistry between Sadie and Eli was really fun. I could definitely feel that chemistry and I loved listening to their story.
In the end I would have liked this book just as much with a little less sex scenes. There were just to many of those at the end, and I began losing interest in them.
I really enjoyed listening to ‘Part Time Cowboy’. Lillian Thayer had a nice and calm voice and I particularly liked how different she could make Sadie and Eli’s voice sound. It never got boring listening to her voice. Yes, ‘Part Time Cowboy’ really made for an easy to follow, fun audiobook. Doing housework was never so fun!

Loved it!
What did you love best about Part Time Cowboy?
I love ornery and stubborn Eli who fights with himself after encountering his potential girlfriend or wife, (even tho he has not got that far in his mind). I think it is so cute and funny because I know he will fall in the end. Eli has to deal with so much in his life, having to have order in his life and feels he has to take care of everybody and no time for love. I love traveling the road with him as he evolves into the man he eventually does.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Part Time Cowboy?
Loved the end where Sadie is confronted by the Chamber of Commerce woman, who gives her food for thought and the following scenes where Eli and Sadie come to the same realization, their true feelings for each other.
What does Lillian Thayer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think I have listened to her before and I knew from the first chapter that I would really enjoy the audio book because I love her voice. Time just flew during the almost 10 hour book, read it in one sitting. Lillian did a fantastic job, loved her way with both male and female voices. I really felt like I had just watched a movie. The author wrote a great book but the narrator just made it even better.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
It was so sad when the barn burned down, felt so sorry for Connor but hated that Eli had a change of heart.

good Storyline
What made the experience of listening to Part Time Cowboy the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed the story line but I wish I had read the book instead. The narrator sounded to mature. I felt like I was listening to someone my mothers age talking about sex, not enjoyable to me.
What didn’t you like about Lillian Thayer’s performance?
Her voice was too mature to be reading this type of book.
