Publisher's Summary

There are moments in our lives that can change the course we’re on. I believe when faced with those moments, we should take the unknown path.

The risk. The excitement, the opportunity, the love....

The night I stumbled into a burlesque club in downtown Los Angeles, I took one of those paths and changed my life.

I found a home I’d never had with my own parents.

I found a confidence I’d never known as a prima ballerina.

I found my passion.

And it inadvertently led me back to the one moment I’d let slip away - to him. To a love so pure and whole and carnal, I thought it could withstand anything.

But I’m not the only one with secrets. And now, all those chosen paths are crumbling around me.

OMgoodness!

That is basically all I could say. The story is amazing. I couldn't figure it out at first and didn't want to stop listening. The chemistry between Adam and Hollis is dream worthy. Hollis connection with her friends was great too. Narration was great from both. The Male narrator I will have to Google because everytime he said F* my knees would falter.

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS

In this first book we meet Hollis.. a burlesque dancer who shares a large house with friends.. and I think the series will follow the friends stories as they each find love. Hollis is a Politician’s daughter - manipulated until she escaped to L.A.. but her controlling cold mother still unfortunately occasionally contacts her. In the Prologue Hollis and drool-worthy Adam’s paths has first cross for one memorable night in New York and once more briefly in a Diner before they meet two years later in Chapter 1 present day L.A. Their magnet pull and palpable chemistry still hums in the air.. but there’s also some serious secrets and barriers too.. and, the more you’re pulled into their current and their story, the more invested you become in its revelations, in their love story and in its twists.

There are positive and negative reviews.. however, I really enjoyed this listen. I liked the connection and chemistry between Hollis and Adam, the intrigue and revelations of the secrets they held, the humor and dynamics between close friends, the drama and twists at the end and the cast of characters. Yes, there were a few places for improvement/development, but overall I thought it was a very entertaining listen.. especially for the price!! It was a bit of a slow start but the suspense grew along with the strong chemistry and my curiosity as to what.. or who, sexy Adam really is.. and I thought making him mute was a change too.

Worth a credit? Yes, and I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed if I’d used a credit on this well-narrated dual POV listen.. but yay it’s absolutely free so I’m happy happy happy.

Not awesome, not awful

The thing that bugged me most about this book is that she made the male protagonist mute, but wrote dialogue as though he was communicating verbally. When you have to type/write everything you want to say, you speak far more succinctly and conversation doesn’t flow the same way it does verbally.

Glad this was free

I really loved Molly’s other books but this one was all over the place and I could not connect with any of the characters. While a part of me wanted to know why Adam was cloning her phone and computer and what secret he had… I ultimately had to bail on this book early on. It just wasn’t written well enough to keep me invested into the story. Thankfully it was part of the plus catalog so I didn’t have to waste a credit.

The Worst!

Forced myself to listen for 2 hours that I'll never get back. It is so bad!

WHAT?

Whatever secrets were in L.A. can stay in L.A. as far as I'm concerned. That's how bad this was. IDK if it was the weak& whiny heroine, demon parents, inept FBI or the circle of freaky friends but this just never impressed me. I don't understand all the high ratings but I guess to each his own.

DNF

Made it half way before I had to stop. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes...the female character was so whiny and the narrator didn't help. Glad this book was free.

Another great read!

I love Molly McAdams, I wasn’t completely drawn in at the beginning of the book, however I continued and was so glad I did! Continues to surprise you & just when you think you have it figured out, there’s a twist. Definitely would recommend.

Great listen!

Savannah and Tim once again capture Molly McAdams’ characters in this book. I read the book before I listened to it and the way they portray the characters is so much fun.

Now of course my review of this book is it’s amazing! Molly has done it again as she has done time and time again. I’m looking forwarded to the rest of the series.
