Publisher's Summary

In this post-apocalyptic thriller, a group of American friends search for safety following disaster, but danger is hunting for them.

America faces a full-scale socioeconomic collapse—the stock market plummets, hyperinflation cripples commerce, and the mounting crisis passes the tipping point. Practically overnight, the fragile chains of supply and high-technology infrastructure fall, and wholesale rioting and looting grip every major city.

As hordes of refugees and looters pour out of the cities, a small group of friends living in the Midwest desperately tries to make their way to a safe-haven ranch in Northern Idaho. The journey requires all their skill and training since communication, commerce, transportation, and law enforcement have all disappeared. Once at the ranch, the group fends off vicious attacks from outsiders and then looks to join other groups that are trying to restore true constitutional law to the country.

Patriots is a thrilling narrative depicting fictional characters using authentic survivalist techniques to endure the collapse of the American civilization. Listening to this compelling, fast-paced novel could mean the difference between life and death one day.

Author deleted original

this is the same one I bought in 2011. the author deleted the original and reposted with the SAME copyright from brilliance audio. There are deleted parts and it is no longer unabridged.

this is so dirty and underhanded.

I love dick hill and I love James W. R. but this is such a dirty tactic.

I was FORCED to repurchase a SECOND TIME.

Why do they cut the chapters Short?

Each chapter appears to end before the story is finished. You don’t know if it’s just a few words or 5 minutes that has been cut.

Dick Hill narrates some top notch work & authors. I’m guessing he would say this is bush league editing.

Eye opening

So much of the book unfolds from current conditions in America. It’s not only informative in the details but In the progression of the way things will /can happen. The book had me on an emotional rollercoaster of hopelessness to maybe all hope isn’t lost to we could prevail if we are prepared and organized. If you fear tyranny and love Freedom this is a must read.

Bad recording or download

The last one to two seconds of every chapter was cut off. Other than that I enjoyed the book.

Audio cut off

Every chapter was cut off short. Not happy but assume it’s not the authors fault.

A good entertaining read.

This book is a reveling look into America's possible future and the course of action that should be taken.

Wow. Just “Wow”

If you enjoy Christian, NRA, far right extremism propaganda wrapped up in a prepper hand book, this will be your “go to.” Otherwise, avoid.

Not like the old upload

So, I know that had had already purchased this in a previous Audible purchase but I couldn't find it & wanted to listen to it again so I purchased it a SECOND time. I'm really disappointed that they cut the last sentence or so off of the end of each chapters. This comes abruptly & feels very poorly arranged, minus one star for that overall.

The overall book is great. The story gets 5 stars. This is a great guide for those new to many concepts of prepping. The radio info is tedious to get through but still represents great information. The thing I love most about the story is his description of the early events leading up to & during the economic collapse. Great writing & very informative. Again, story gets 5 stars because the strong points make up for any weak points overall.

Lastly, the performance. It gets only a 2 from me. I want to give it more because the narrator tries hard. You can tell he is passionate about what he does. However, he speaks in such a halting way that he is often difficult to follow. His dialogue voices for various characters is pretty bad. His East Coast accent is just too thick for the characters in this story & all of his female characters sound identical. Foreign accents are even worse.

Overall, I love the story & the information but hated the performance & the way they cut the chapters a little off. I honestly wish they would re-release it with a new narrator & unabridged.

Not bad Not great

Gets a little over winded in some details and makes you want to keep hitting the 10 sec forward button until he's through. I did like the story. My biggest gripe was at the end of each chapter it just cut off mid sentence so you don't know how much is missing.
