Publisher's Summary

Honour Metcalf’s quilting needlework is admired by a wealthy customer of the Boston Mantua-maker for whom she works. In need of increasing her earnings, she agrees to create an elaborate white work bridal quilt for the dowager’s niece. A beautiful design emerges as she carefully stitches the intricate patterns and she begins to dream of fashioning a wedding quilt of her own. When Honour is falsely accused of thievery and finds herself in a perilous position, merchant tailor Joshua Sutton comes to her aid. As he risks his relationships, reputation, and livelihood to prove her innocence, the two discover a grander plan - a design for love.

Not the best

The narrator‘s British accents are not the best. As for the story, it’s just a woman who keeps fainting and falling all over the place all the time, and being sort of helpless, which doesn’t make for an interesting storyline to me.

Slow and 2-dimensional

Don’t pay for this book! If you can get it for free or don’t mind a slow meandering story, it’s ok. But only ok.
Also, how many times can one women fall and Injure herself and then recover from the brink of death?

Christian Historical Romance

I enjoyed this colonial story very much. I thought the narration actually detracted from it a bit, but the story line was quite wonderful. A few instances I had a hard time comprehending, but I attributed to my lack of knowledge to this time period.

Interesting historical romance

Enjoyed the historical story but the narrator's voice was annoying!
The voice was over dramatic and difficult to listen to. The story would have been better told by a better narrator.

Christian Young Adult Fiction

This was amusing and parts were well crafted. The Christian piece must have been deliberate because it was emphasized in the dialogue far beyond that of most contemporary fiction.
There was a clever story line and missed opportunities. I would have appreciated a narrator who was able to carry off a British accent with greater conviction.
