Story
The cancer of "political correctness" has not only helped to form a society of insincere, oversensitive, and underachieving people - it has deprived individuals of the joy of living authentically and boldly, the life the late Henry David Thoreau called people to live when he implored us to move "confidently in the direction of our own dreams". Well, living authentically and boldly has never been a problem for Larry Winget. Have you ever desired, deep within your soul, to make a comfortable full-time living from a farming enterprise? Too often people dare not even vocalize this desire because it seems absurd. It's like thinking the unthinkable. After all, the farm population is dwindling. It takes too much capital to start. The pay is too low. The working conditions are dusty, smelly and noisy: Not the place to raise a family. This is all true, and more, for most farmers.

In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

Publisher's Summary
What do people really want? They want what they've got. It's a simple formula. You have what you want because your actions produced your results. Not your words, and certainly not your wants.
In his signature caustic yet lovable style, Larry Winget dishes out straight talk on what he calls "life's messes," and offers sound, simple solutions. Taking on business, family, health, being fat, being stupid, success, money, and more, Larry Winget points out exactly which changes have to take place in order for people to turn their lives around.
A little bit of business, a little bit of personal development, a little finance, a little parenting, a little health and wellness, People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! will help anyone identify their own "areas of stupidity" and take action to finally achieve real success.

Larry Hits the Nail on the Head
I love Larry and loved this book. Fans will be glad to hear he's narrating this one. If you like to be told things straight up, no holding back, with a "I'm here to kick butt and take no prisoners" attitude - this is the book for you. If you're the type who needs to be cuddled and spoken to gently, skip it. This is not an audio book for the precious, sensitive-types among us. If you're not familiar w/ Larry, listen to the sample to see if you like his tonality. He's blunt, sarcastic and sometimes a tad crude so be warned.
His common sense, take responsibility for yourself and act like a mature adult ideology is a perfect antidote for the seemingly overwhelming numbers of whiny, self-absorbed, lazy, "it's all about me" princesses (of both genders) that seem to have invaded the population over the past several years. If you're up to really evaluating yourself, your actions and your life in order to get where you want to go, I urge you to get this book, do ALL the exercises and follow through. I think it's time for all of us to "put on our big kid panties" and work towards a more positive, stable, productive tomorrow.
Now, since I believe Larry's title that people are idiots, I'll just wait to see how many reviews show up complaining about how mean and uncouth Larry is in this book and what a waste of a credit it was, even though they've had ample warning. :-)

he totally pissed me off
and I couldn't stop listening, except when I was making the lists he tells you to write. Yes we are ALL idiots and the goal is the do it less often. I was so happy when he brought up a topic I was already doing and kicking myself when the next section was something I never thought of. He really doesn???t tell anyone anything new but he tells it like it is and helped me keep working on improving myself.

Complete duplicate of other book
I really enjoyed shut up stop whining and get a life yesterday while I was at work listening to it. I downloaded this book so I can listen to it tonight at work and it pretty much said all of the same exact stuff that was in the previous book, therefore I feel cheated that I paid for another book and got almost no new information. I had to stop a couple of times just to make sure I was not listening to the same book again by mistake but I wasn’t it was supposedly a new book. There were a couple of situations that were different, but for the most part it’s exactly everything that was stated in shut up stop whining and get a life. So if you don’t wanna re-read The same book or should I say re-listen to the same book over again personally I would not purchase this one. I’m very disappointed that I wasted $18

Eye opener
What made the experience of listening to People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! the most enjoyable?
Once Larry gets past putting everyone in the world down he breaks things into chapters. While I can't wear stillettos I appreciate that one should look for qualities in a mate that are compatible with their likes and dislikes. Wish I had this book 25 years ago!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Some of the idiots he describes. The ones that annoy everybody. Especially on planes and in restaurants.
Which character ??? as performed by Larry Winget ??? was your favorite?
Larry Winget. Once you listen, I need say no more.
What did you learn from People Are Idiots and I Can Prove It! that you would use in your daily life?
A ton of stuff! The people I hang out with, mostly.
Any additional comments?
I wish he would narrate ALL of his books. I love the two I have.

Some of the information is overlap from his other books, this particular book focus on the people and their good, bad and interesting habit as consumers, employees and neighbors.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed through many of the moments, some of his stories are comical.

Old worn out style
Never heard of Larry Winget before, but it was on the 5.95 special and I thought I'd give him a try. It's just not cute after awhile to hear the "good ole, psycho country boy" persona telling you all the same crap that you've heard for years. He just tries too hard to be "tough".

Exceptional!!
I heard this book in Audible and it captured my attention all the way through the book. Larry really delves deep into human behavior along with obvious yet simple solutions to stop being an idiot in this life! I'm a 62 year old woman and have found areas in my life that I have been an idiot about. This book along with ALL of Larry's books have given me the "tools" and inspiration to make the changes in my life that are long overdue. My husband recently passed away unexpectedly and my world was turned upside down. I was placed in assisted living because I lost strength in my legs. After physical therapy I was put on a exercise plan to regain my strength back. Because of my grief I haven't been doing my exercises as much as I should. It's "easier" to just lay down. But after hearing Larry's books something inside of me woke up and pushed me to do things that will only get me TO my goal instead of AWAY from my goal!! I AM going to be strong again, I AM going to have my own home again, I AM going to learn new skills and I AM going to make alot of money again and get back to living LIFE again!! Thank you Larry for your help in getting me back on my own two feet again!! I am very grateful that I have listened to your books and learned how to be and do the "best that I can"!!
