Both types of kneejerk reactions can have lasting and unintended consequences, affecting our friendships, careers, families, and romantic relationships. The truth is, overreacting hurts us as much as it hurts the people around us. You may see overreacting as an unchangeable part of your personality, but in reality, this tendency, like any other, can be unlearned.

Publisher's Summary
You don't have to be controlled by difficult people! Strange as it may seem, other people are not nearly as committed to our happiness as we are. In fact, sometimes it seems like they’re on a mission to make us miserable! There’s always that one person. The one who hijacks our emotions. The one who seems to thrive on drama. If we could just “fix” that person, everything would be better. But we can’t fix other people. We can only make choices about ourselves. In this cut-to-the-chase audio book, communication expert Mike Bechtle shows you how to stop being a victim of other people’s craziness. With commonsense wisdom and proactive advice that you can put into practice immediately, Bechtle gives you a proven strategy to handle crazy people - and stay sane while doing it. There will always be difficult people. But this fresh perspective on dealing with them can change your life - starting today!

GREAT book that delivers it's title
Would you consider the audio edition of People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys to be better than the print version?
Most definately as the author is reading it in a very interesting way
What was one of the most memorable moments of People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys?
The moments he was making his suggestions in point format then expanding each point in details. Also all his stories were relevant to the topic and presented in a very interesting way.
What does Mike Bechtle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The tone of his voice is clearly delivering the points he wrote. I belive this book would have never been as enjoyable if someone else was doing the reading.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
YES, so many times I felt moved by the book and the points he made. In particular I was touched by his statement "do not be the victim of other people's weakness"
Any additional comments?
I so much loved and enjoyed the book that I will buy his book "Confident Conversations" in an audio format too.

Why hide the fact this is a religious book?
What would have made People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys better?
Remove the religion/preaching.
Has People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes, because it seams a lot of self-help books lately are leaving out in their description and the beginning of their books that they are in fact religious based. A real turn-off and it doesn’t make sense because books can be returned. Those who have nothing to hide, hide nothing.
What three words best describe Mike Bechtle’s performance?
Annoying, too, sweet.
What character would you cut from People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys?
? Just enough with the religion.
Any additional comments?
Be upfront with the fact you are preaching. There are plenty of folks that believe in a god still around. It looks pretty shady trying to hide what you are doing for a profit.

Riddles With Religious Overtones
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Sadly, before purchasing this book, I only read the synopsis and the first few reviews. Had I done my homework and read more of the reviews, I would have seen the one that pointed out that this book has a strong religious component to it.
Had I seen that, I would have saved my money.
The author's reading is done well (hence the 3 stars for performance), however the content and it's emphasis on God, the Bible and matters of Faith were not for me.
Has People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, however I will be more careful to read ALL of the reviews before purchasing next time.
What three words best describe Mike Bechtle’s voice?
Personable, clear, emotive
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys?
The subtle yet ever present proselytizing.

Good advice
Good book. The author is a religious man and makes many new and old testament references and quotes throughout. I tend to shy away from religious based rhetoric, but I found this author did it in a way that was genuine so it didn't bother me.
Aside from that, good advice is delivered in a clear format, I'd reccomend it for anyone who deals with people personally or at work who may have a knack for making them crazy.

EXCELLENT Book on Relationships!
WOW! I think I highlighted something on almost every page of this book, it was SO GOOD! I appreciated the author’s underlying message that, since the only person we have the power to change is ourselves, we should work to change our thoughts, attitudes, & reactions to the difficult people in our lives, in the hope of improving that relationship, and to protect ourselves. Some useful tips
If you could sum up People Can't Drive You Crazy If You Don't Give Them the Keys in three words, what would they be?
I enjoyed this book and there was some useful life advice in it. Its about the right length for this type of book as you can get a bit overloaded with do's and don'ts. He makes lots of analogies which I quite like but if you don't i suspect they'd get a bit annoying.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The narration was pretty good but then its his own book so it should be. If I had to be critical then the religious references got on my nerves as non believer I felt it lost some credibility there, also the term "crazy people" was used excessively. I got sick of it.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
