Every woman should have this book in their library

I wish I had this book when I was younger! Thankfully I have it now and it has answered questions I have had! There is so much information out there on periods and hormones that it can become very overwhelming. This audiobook lays everything out in a way that is easy to absorb and process. I have had concerns and questions about what my body goes through monthly and it seems our society tells us that it's embarrassing to ask those questions that every woman has but is afraid to talk about it. This audiobook is filled with valuable information that every woman needs!

A Much Needed Book

Every 11-year-old girl should read or listen to this book. The chapter on myths and superstitions was enlightening. I especially enjoyed the self-care guide. I listened to this book with the idea of gifting it to my granddaughter and wanted to make sure she would find it an easy but informative listen, and it did not disappoint.

The Mysteries of Hormones

This book addresses the questions you've always been afraid to ask. Periods are the topic of so much misinformation that even those who have gone through them might be puzzled at times. This book helps people to simplify and manage what may be a tough and unpleasant time in their lives. I gained a lot of knowledge and wish I had known some of it when I was younger. I'm now aware of how our current method of birth control affects our periods and hormones.

A great refresher

As my daughter will be getting her period soon, I purchased this book to update my knowledge about the menstrual cycle. This book came across as very matter-of-fact and did not hold any punches. I really appreciated that. I liked how the information was delivered. So much so I'm going to have my daughter listen to it. I do not want her to be embarrassed or shocked when she gets her period. The book has a positive tone throughout which is very refreshing. A great book for men to read as well should they want to learn more

disappointing

sadly very superficial and medicalised, the narrators voice adds to how patronising all of it sounds.

Worth it

So, I was drawn to this book by the title. I was nearing my period and I get grumpy when that time of the month nears so I figured, what the hell! I added it to my list. Then parked it there for a while until, trying to distract myself from cramps, I started listening to it and immediately wished I had started earlier. The author's approach makes the book so interesting to listen to and the information makes it worth every penny. I don't think I ever understood periods as I do now.

Answered So Many Questions!

This book enlightened me on so much to do with my body and my cycle. Definitely a book that I could recommend to other mothers. It is an educational book that normalises a woman's period and something we should feel comfortable talking about but we don't for some reason. Really enjoyed it!
