Three-hundred-fifty billion annually in psychiatric drugs, but where is the help or improvement in the people? Where is the science? No biological test to prove anyone has a disorder.

ECT - no one knows "how it works". With no US federal regulations on it. Where is the US FDA with this?

What is TMS? Do doctors diagnose people with disorders using a quiz?

I did not regret this at all!

As a Mental Health Nurse, I can say that this book hit the delicate spot of these conditions. The book is very interesting and offered much information that is rarely talked about. The knowledge is in-depth and precise. I would love to share this with other nurses in my unit.

How do Doctors get away with this? Terrifying!

I learned so much about how various marginalized people have been taken advantage of through the testing and experimenting with psychiatric treatments. The money and power behind treatments of very sick people, is absolutely shocking. The fact that they don’t need to be tested in anyway, is so beyond human decency, so much for DSM codes.

Thank you for educating people about why they need to be so cautious before starting down this pharmaceutical path or un-regulated treatments. Especially the young need to be protected from these heavy drugs.

Insightful , !

in what century do we live on?! great but super scary information, how could it be possible that with all the great technological grout, mental health still stuck in what sound like a horror movie or the worse nightmare, Thanks for this information certainly important to know, even more as a parent, we need to protect our self's and love ones from the crazy pharmaceutical power and radical " treatments " , will certainly look for options away from " them"

This is shocking but important to know!

Wow, this is an eye-opener; the author did an excellent job revealing these dark secrets. I have so many friends and coworkers that said their kids had been diagnosed with one or some of the mental disorders mentioned in the book. I will make sure they listen to this audiobook as there is much value to take away!

Thrills and Chills With a Warning

You can tell this author did their research well into this topic. This book holds so much insight into the darker side of psychology, psychiatry and the treatment of mental health. It really unveils the ugly side of science in research. In the name of research and treatment, there are so many untold stories of mistreatment and unethical practices carried out just to find results or plausible solutions. As dark as this story is, I am glad that these practices are getting coverage. If there is one takeaway you should get from this book it's: be aware, do your research, and and don't blindly listen to all authority figures.

nice warning

I was not very familiar with this subject, but this book gave me a lot of understand of problems with drugs and the phycology with children, that was a nice warning of how to proceed in the case of problem. As the author said we should help others even as simply as by sharing information that can save or improve someone else live, in this case children.

Very interesting and helpful!

This book is very interesting since I had a lot of problems with anxiety and depression. I still have depression and anxiety problems, but I have them under control. I don't like pills, and I would never use them. Thanks to the author for this beneficial information, and I agree drugs only mask the problem.

Chilling ... barbaric ... listen to it anyway

This author has done his research on psychiatry, psychology, and their drugs and treatments. These are over-prescribed without justification. A quick takeaway: in the U.S. in 2019, 274,000 children age one year or younger was put on psychiatric drugs. 1M kids under the age of 6 were, and 4M between ages 6-12 were. What are we doing to our children? Children and adults are being used as guinea pigs (as markets) for untested, unproven, non-efficacious pharmaceuticals and barbaric treatments such as ECT (electroconvulsive treatment). If that reminds you of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, as it did me, you're not alone: The author mentioned it. The average voltage for ECT: 100-450 volts, until a convulsion occurs. We use 2,000 volts in the electric chair to carry out the death penalty. C'mon. We're better than this. PARENTS: DO NOT allow a psychiatrist or MD to prescribe a psychiatric drug OR ANY DRUG to your child. Do your research. They are counting on us to protect them.
