Publisher's Summary

In the Clandoms, every person is born with wings, along with the ability to fly. But there has always been one deadly restriction to this gift—a rule that must never be broken. Flying in cloudy skies summons gargols, vicious stone monsters that will tear any poor trespassers apart.

History doesn't tell where the gargols came from, or why they're so intent on punishing those who soar too high. But now Ellie Meadows thinks she knows why. An aspiring knight turned wanted fugitive, Ellie has seen the truth with her own eyes. The Clandoms' history has been taken from them, along with their ancestral homes.

Only one person can return the Clandoms back where they belong. Nox Hatcher is the key to the skies, if only Ellie can get him to believe it.

This is suck a great and fantastic book

I enjoyed listening this book and it is a work of art. It leaves you clutching to your seat in anticipation. I have never listened to a book so great as this one. I would definitely recommend this audiobook and the entire skyborn series to the ages of 9-17.

I love how well the author builds the relationship of Ellie and Nux really establishing deep and heartfelt connections.

Disappointed

I loved the Mystwick stories and the first 2 books in this trilogy, so I was super excited for this one to come out. But this one felt exhausting to listen to. The action was way too formulaic (one almost deadly event quickly followed by a very unlikely rescue at a way-too-rapid clip over and over and over and over again ect...). The Internal dialog of both ellie and Knox was super negative (poor me!) and obnoxiously redundant. I felt like a therapist by the end of the book and was actually telling the characters (out loud) by the end to "just get over it!" because I was so irritated. The book could have easily been 30% shorter without all the redundant self talk. The arc line of the trilogy is really awesome, but I think the author rushed to get this out by a deadline, and that's a real shame. It really could have used some heavy editing and then been an exceptional book. Not sure I'll have my 6 and 8 year old listen to it. I suspect it will bore them too and I don't want them hearing so much negative self talk.

AMAZING!!!!!! Listen to this book right now!

I loved listening to this book! it had easily relatable characters and an interesting plot line. I liked how Nox overcame his fears to help others and how Ellie realised that she was important too. my favourite character had to be Gussy, though. you'll have to listen to this to find out why.😁😄🙂. research Nox and Ellies names to find their meaning. its quite interesting. if you haven't listened to the other books in the series then you should definitely get them!

Wish there was more than three!

Loved all of these books. Sad to get to the end but very well written and wrapped up nicely.
