Publisher's Summary

Frank Peretti thrills millions with his suspense-filled, best-selling inspirational Darkness series, which portrays unforgettable confrontations between angelic and demonic forces. The first book in the series, This Present Darkness, topped Christian fiction lists. Now, the great spiritual war continues in Piercing the Darkness

In the small town of Bacon's Corner, powerful demons are working to ensnare the souls of the townspeople. A woman has been murdered, the Christian school is under attack, and the town is divided by a legal struggle. As heavenly beings rally to aid the faithful, gigantic evil ones are on the alert, looking for any sign of weakness.

Each fast-paced chapter of this novel is filled with vivid descriptions of angels and demons. And the trials of the believers are no less absorbing. Richard Ferrone's dramatic narration highlights each test of faith and truth.

Great Christian Fiction

Very enjoyable and entertaining story. Somewhat dated in parts (references to pagers and payphones) but a vivid reminder of the spiritual world around us.

My heart is full!!

"Piercing The Darkness" as well as its predecessor, "This Present Darkness", by Frank Peretti have brought my relationship with Christ even closer.
My heart is rejoicing at the love and wonder of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ! I see people all around me in a whole new light! WE NEED MOVIES MADE OF THIS SERIES!

Would not want to watch this as a movie

I love fantasy so this book appealed to me. Would not watch it as a movie due to the description of all the demons. The narrator is one of my favorites I’ve listen to over 15 of his books I probably would listen to the book even if it wasn’t good just because he it’s such a good narrator. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes good against evil angels against demons and the knowledge that Jesus Christ always wins.

Read this before and enjoyed it

Having read this before years ago, I thought I would listen to the audio as a refresher. I enjoyed listening to this story about 1/2 hour at bedtime. I believe it is a good representation of spiritual warfare. know I will find myself listening to it again as a reminder that the real battle is not with other humans but in the spirit where we choose the light of the world or the darkness of the world.

Satan - the real enemy

Our fight isn't against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Excellent book portraying this.

Still a great book

Read the books years ago, was excited to own the unabridged version of this book. I learned more about spiritual warfare and it's realities from this book.
I could always relate to the experiences in so many situations.
Great story good characters seemed to share so many areas that we as Christians can be very ignorant of.

the narrator is good, at times his female voices can sound very similar to his male voices. other than that he read the book for over 20hours can't hold that against him.
