Publisher's Summary

Brax

Tyson Langley thinks the king in Franklin University Kings is in reference to him. Star lacrosse player and God’s gift to the female and male population, there’s nothing the spoiled jock can’t have.

It’s impossible for us to be in the same room without talking crap to each other. But I also have a secret…as much as I despise Ty, I want him too. I revel in our banter and in never knowing what he’ll say next.

I’ve spent too much time on the wrong side of the law for someone like Ty, though, and if I want to make it through college and escape my past, he’s a distraction I don’t need.

Ty

Braxton Walker needs to learn to lighten up. If you search brooding online, his name pops up. He’s the bad boy with a leather jacket and a scowl. We couldn’t be more different.

Finding ways to annoy him is like the longest foreplay session of my life. And when we end up working together, it gets harder to deny how hot he makes me.

What’s a little hooking up between enemies?

We weren’t supposed to become friends or share secrets. We weren’t supposed to understand each other and all the complicated stuff we’re going through.

I’m used to playing games, only the more time I spend with Brax, the less it feels like playing around and the more it becomes something real.

Ty and Brax

What an awesome start for the series. What a wonderful University, These young men are full of snark and banter, you are kept on your toes. Tyson is star Lacrosse player and Brax is the bad boy. They despise one another but on another level they want each other. Ty loves to torment the Brooding bad boy, just to see what happens. What's sex between enemies, nothing serious, until it does.

Loved the Story!

I don't even know what to do with myself now that I'm done with Ty and Brax's story! I could have kept reading about them forever. I loved every word of this! From the first interaction between them through their happily ever after, it was simply wonderful. They start off just irrating the heck out of each other. The back and forth, the barbs and quips, the sarcasm...just all on point and so entertaining! They spend more and more time together, convinced they both find the other supremely annoying, and just keep evolving into friends and then more. Watching all of that unfold was such a joy. There was such a strong connection between them. They were both dealing with some issues surrounding their family and their future. They were both such kind and caring people. They were so perfect for each other and taking the journey with them to this realization was fabulous! So sweet, so swoony, and so steamy. It gave me butterflies and made me smile so much! Add in the wonderful cast of characters, from Ty's friends to Braxton's Grandma, and this book was just perfect all the way around! What a great way to kick off a new shared world series. I am so excited for the rest of the books to come!

I recently became a JF Harding fan, and I really love his voice, but I had trouble in this book differentiating between who was speaking and it pulled me out of the story a bit. But overall I am glad I listened!

Frenemies with benefits!

This was a great listen! Tyson and Braxton couldn't be more opposite if they tried and that made for such a fun read- the popular athlete and the "bad boy biker".
I so enjoyed the back and forth banter between these two, how they always tried to one up each other with their battle of wits. These guys were more frenemies than true enemies, even with Brax's disdain for athletes. I can only imagine the sexual tension radiating off of them when they were in a room together!
I liked that there wasn't a lot of drama between Ty and Brax, it was more from outside forces (i.e., Ty's dad and Brax's brother). They easily moved on to frenemies with benefits. And I just loved the progression of their relationship, as they finally came to the realization that, hey, we really are boyfriends, it was so cute.
Playing Games was a light, easy read, and a terrific introduction to the Franklin U series, I can't wait to read the rest!

I adore JF Harding, I think he's a wonderful narrator! My only issue with this audiobook was that there were a few times when I couldn't differentiate between the characters, when Brax and Ty were speaking to each other. I wish there had just been a little more of a difference in the sounds of their voices. But overall it was excellent.

What a great start to this series!

At the start of this book I did not think I was going to like it. Ty and Braxton were so abrasive to each other. But as it became their love language I really started to enjoy their banter. They did not take each other seriously. Even with their baggage they balance each other out. I love how their relationship evolves and they grow individually as well.

The narration was superb! I can’t wait to start the next book!!!

Wow!

This was a surprisingly good love story. Not that Riley Hart isn’t normally, but I always have a lowered expectation with new adult romance. The author put just the right tone for this age group including some authentic feels about family and past hurts. I loved the banter between characters. All of them really. And of course, the HEA was not only there for the lovers, but for their family relationships also.

I could listen to JF Harding read soup can labels. He’s amazing.

Lighthearted and low angst MM!

Playing Games book one in the Franklin U series. A MM college romance series collaboration between either authors. Each author writing their own book within the FU world.

While this is book one I didn't start with this book in the series and it didn't hinder my reading experience at all. These books have been written so that you can read them out of order.

I really enjoyed the banter between Brax and Tyson. The tension and snark was great. Still very much with that low angst vibe which makes for easy reading. It's light-hearted and cute at times will still bringing the sassy/snark. It's that classic bad boy and jock romance with a little more depth.

I listened to the audiobook and definitely recommend JF Harding as a narrator. He did a great job with both POV's.
