Publisher's Summary

From the age of 14, Caitlin was completely controlled, repeatedly raped, provided with alcohol, given drugs, sold and passed on to new gangs over and over again. The majority of her abusers were Pakistani men, who were blatant in their attacks upon her, often collecting her from school or home, to be taken to flats they owned, family homes or hotels booked for the day, to be horrifically and systematically abused.

At a time when the abuse ring realities of young white women in Rotherham and other major English cities are coming to light, Caitlin's story will appal listeners - not just because of the degree of horrific attacks which were perpetrated upon her but also because of the ways in which the authorities refused to act.

Caitlin speaks openly about what she has suffered and also shows just how unwilling many people are to face up to what is happening in our midst, for fear of being called racist. By bravely speaking out, she will hopefully prove just how deep these problems are and just how the abusers get away with it in plain sight of the authorities.

So Brave!!!

Thank you for your vulnerability. Such raw detailed timeline of events. I am sorry the system failed you. I appreciate the time you took to write this book and to get it out there. I was trafficked. I continue to be the voice for the voiceless as well. I pray peace for you and your daughters. Much love to you.

only at Chapter 3

I started listening earlier today, I am now at chapter 3 and already having a VERY difficult time listening to this story. it could so easily be any girl, me. anyone that it makes it that much more real more difficult. I have not yet even reached the truly horrific parts and it is so real that as good as this book is, as well written, I find it hard to listen to.
Maybe in print it would be a bit easier, but I don't know.
so for anyone looking to read this, the writing is very good, the details me it very real but the subject matter is difficult. I personally am lucky enough to have never experienced anything even close but for those who have, my heart breaks for the girl you were and I admire the woman you were able to make it thru and survive to become.
I wish I knew how to help girls forced/stuck in this situation bc I would.

Open Our Eyes

I am in awe of her ability to love after all the evil that has tried to destroy her. An unimaginable tale of abuse that everyone must hear. Our eyes must be opened to see and our ears to hear the cries for help. Darkness can not be allowed to take out the light. We can not continue to sacrifice the safety, health & wellbeing of our children because of power, greed, fear, ignorance!!! Dear God, please show us how we can help!

Hard to believe. Vulgar, seems exaggerated!

This story was so unbelievable. The author of this story took no responsibility for anything! She bragged about numerous abortions - even one at 5 months. She claims she said yes to everything. She claims her parents were as ignorant to her “abuse” as she was. If this outlandish story is even 1/4 true than her parents should be charged with neglect and abuse. It’s hard for anyone in this day and age to believe that this woman simply was trafficked willingly, yet went to school every day, found men on the internet and simply went to live with them without knowing anything about them and then all of a sudden was back to prostituting, even in other countries!? Common! Really? This author blames every one else except herself! It’s a sad tale of a sick twisted weak individual who really needs some help. The fact she does not use her own name, profits from her outlandish tale of horror yet, continues on and on and on about the most grotesque sex acts but does nothing except tells her mother one time- supposedly the mother and father turned a blind eye for years and years! This tale of terror is simply to exaggerated to believe! From her own account she did nothing to escape it. She had every opportunity in the world several times over, hundreds of times to say no, run to the police, to her school authorities, anyone, yet she did not! She choose to walk around daily, no handcuffs, no stopping her from going home… she chose to do nothing to help her situation, she claims she simply says… yes to all types of sexual abuse, several abortions, and 2 children who should not even be in her care. If she cannot and will it protect her self.. how will she protect two children! This tall tail is a bunch of lies and of it is not.. someone better get those two little girls and save them from a life with this narcissistic weak mother they have.
Just my opinion. Eck! Story was awful!

eye-popping

I struggled with this audiobook mostly because of how uncomfortable it made me feel but realistically when I came down to it I needed to hear this to know what this person went through was something that was real. there were parts in this book where I didn't want to continue listening to it because it made me feel uncomfortable but I finished it and I feel like it needs to be finished. because what happened to this person it's still something that goes on till this day and it needs to be out for people to see no matter how uncomfortable it makes them feel.

Omg I dont know what is wrong with these Pakistani men they come from back a Bush village mentality to think they rule and control women
It's TRUE they have no respect for womem let alone a white woman
caitlin you poor girl you just went from one abuser to the next
you said you was weak !!! No girl you are one strong female you was failed by certain people but you remained and still remain strong till this day
It's not your fault at all
These horrible nasty men need to be found and jailed for life
I cried thru out listening to your book
I felt your pain

OMG!! This book must buy this book.

Caitlin, I hope you are able to read these reviews to know how much YOU ARE BELIEVED. I know some reviews say it is a bit repetitive, but you explain why that is. This book is of a woman telling her story, it’s not a fictional novel. It’s real life.
I came across this book while I was looking for a novel by a similar title. I was unsure if I should buy it and I’m glad I did. It is not a comfortable read, but it is a complete eye opener. Thank you for telling your story Caitlin. I have got to say that I thought the narrator was very good, as always.

This was a sad horrific story.
It’s hard to say I enjoyed the story being so disturbing but I could not to stop listening. If you have lived a sheltered life you need to listen to Caitlin story and if you have not you may relate, either way I recommend you listen.
A story of awareness.

A brave brave little girl

My heart is so so bleeding for you Caitlin, you finally become brave but so much tortured in your early life and forever in your mind that won't leave. I don't know why God allows this to some people?? Please just keep fighting braverly with your demons that would be so deeply in your mind now & forever and as you said. Yes your daughters to keep safe & love as you do. I have a 13y/o step daughter too whom I love dearly and want to keep safe also, not that she lives with me any more, but see her any chance I've got, but her mother is a drug addice. Thank you Caitlin for coming out (x1000?) to tell your story whom I believe and you are not racist one little bit either. Stay safe brave (dented) girl. 😓
