I don’t believe in objectifying men. I don’t catcall men. I don’t ogle the bodies of men. I don’t view men as objects of my affection rather than complex people with feelings, wants, and needs of their own. I don’t treat men the way society often treats women. I treat men the way I want to be treated as a woman - with respect! So, when Carlos ran into me while I was reviewing my interview questions in the park, it surprised me to see my photography classmate out of class. I was also surprised to see as much of him as I did.

Story
Brandon Sims has it all. The brain that produces million-dollar ideas, the charming personality to get what he wants, and the looks to seduce any willing bachelorette. According to his mother, the only thing that’s missing is a wife and kids, and the more time he spends with his personal assistant, Calliope, the more he agrees with her. Calliope represents everything he wants in a woman—educated, ambitious, and so damn sexy. The easiest thing for him to do would be to marry the woman of his dreams, but the hard part is convincing Calliope.

Story
Hailey Freeman goes to Blackwood with a specific mission - at least on the surface. When a sudden tragedy thrusts her into chaos, she expects to find herself mired in confusion, bereft, while she figures out how to pick up the pieces. Instead, she finds comfort, clarity, and - baffling - familiarity in the arms of Ellis Boyd. A stranger. A stranger who can’t help wondering if he knows Hailey somehow, met her somewhere, another time that they just can’t remember—the only explanation for their swift, consuming connection. At least, the only one that makes sense.

Boring. Invisible. Pretty for a plus-size girl. Those were all the things I felt about myself, thanks to my chosen career as an accountant and society’s depiction of the perfect female. So, I booked a trip to Vegas for my birthday. In walked Soul Matthias, treating me and my body as anything but ordinary. Player. Bad boy. High-risk. That’s what baseball owners banked on to lowball my contract. I had to get my act together. Then, in strutted Alexa Livingston. A breath of fresh air, someone completely different. But what we had wasn’t real. It was just a marriage contract.

Some believe the old adage, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire". Well, in some instances the smoke is just a coverture for secrets. Dark ones. Ragee is a successful R&B singer, music composer, and actor who shot to fame and celebrity at rocketing speed. He has the voice, the troubled soul, the seductive look, and the alluring mystique, all of which give him the traditional packaging of a soulful rhythm and blues singer. But he also has an unshakable stigma attached to his stardom that won’t seem to go away.

Publisher's Summary
Kenny: He was born into the struggle, a place where love was sometimes considered a luxury and most certainly couldn't be taken for granted. Being the sole provider of his household before he was old enough to get a job, it was no surprise that he maintained that position when super stardom landed at his door.
Tashena: She was born into the struggle, a place where abandonment was just one of the many things that could fall into your path. She learned early on that it was her responsibility to protect herself, and sometimes the ones she loved. In her eyes, pain was not a thing to be shared. It was better managed alone. And the weight of it, though crippling, was hers to carry and no one else's.
They were born into the struggle, separated by a few blocks of concrete and heavy doses of pain, somehow finding their way back to each other after life and its perils pushed them apart. The truth needed to be told before either of their hearts could mend. Healing was needed on both ends before reception was an option. Trust needed to be established before love was a possibility. Such heavy burdens to bare for souls that were already carrying too much.
Plus, a story of love...through the struggle.

Terrible Narration
I’m about 2 hours into the audiobook and probably will not finish it. The actor for the female main character, Tichina is HORRIBLE. Her tone is monotonous regardless if she changes character. Her voice is also raspy but only at the ends of her sentences. A horrible performer destroys the goodness of an intriguing storyline. The plot of the book seems good and is keeping my interest. But it’s so hard to get passed this terrible narrator that I may just have to purchase the physical book and read it myself.

Good Book Horrible Female Narrator!!!
Updated Review
I finally read the Kindle version and Plus was a really good book. That just goes to show you how a really good book can be ruined by a horrible narrator. If you're a fan of Sabrina Scales, give this audiobook a hard pass and just read the book. The female narrator will have you wanting to punch the walls.
I’m going to assume all of the 5-star reviews on this book are for the Kindle or paperback versions because, the Audible version is trash! I have listened to a lot of books with bad narrators but, Machelle Williams just took the crown. She was HORRENDOUS!!! An 1 ½ into the book, I stopped at least three times and almost gave up. Machelle Williams’ narration was so bad, I could hardly focus on the storyline. Her attempts at doing different characters were mediocre at best. That high pitch screeching tone she used to voice Chardonnay was so annoying, I had to skip those scenes. Her tone was monotonous, emotionless, and all of the female characters sounded exactly the same. I couldn’t tell who was talking when she voiced Tashena, Phalin, Taia, or Aunt Rhonda. And, both of them consistently mispronounced Phalin and Nedra’s name. Oh, and don’t get me started on how bad the sex scenes were! The way they read the sex scenes was so juvenile. It didn’t even sound like they were being read by an adult. It's disheartening when a good book is overshadowed by a bad narrator. Leon Nixon killed his narration and he's the only reason I gave the performance 2 stars. But, Machelle Williams ruined this book. Was Wesleigh Siobhan not available?!!! I may have to buy the Kindle version and read it just to see if the book is as good as everyone says it is.

A Good Story!
I looked forward to hearing the story of Tashena and Kenny. It was a good story line! There was drama, laughter, and the sex scenes were good not as intense of Naughty and Nasty but good scenes. What made it hard to enjoy the story was the narrators. I usually don't like to talk about the Narrators when I'm not found of them but, I found it extremely hard to enjoy the book w/ Machelle Williams as a narrator. But overall still a really good book to listen to!

Voices
Listening to the voices of the characters was hard. Everyone spoke slow, with voice shakey. Not a great thing. There wasn't any indication that Naughty & Nasty was even related. Wondering if Justin & Nedra are going to take another step in their relationship or was this the end. Hope there is next book the ending for this one suggests it would be.

The narrators were awful!
I only bought this book because it was apart of a series. The story itself was all over the place. My major issue was the narrators. The female was so monotone and her attempts at doing different characters was mediocre. The male was attempting to sound “hood” and failed miserably. I had to force myself to complete this one.

Tasheena and Plus, so good!
So glad they got their own story. Real love that lives and breathes through this this life that ain't easy, but is absolutely fair. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end and can only hope to learn how it all plays out for them all. Need a culmination/wedding/ever after novel to lay these amazing characters to bed. Thanks for another amazing story.

Narrators good have been better. The story was romantic and cute. However, narrators did not bring life to characters. I got through it because I was interested about the couple and their story briefly introduced in Naughty and Nasty.

Awesome book, the story was great. I appreciated the look into molestation and I like how the author approached it. It's a very real thing that happens but most people don't like to address it. Rodney was a monster. The only thing that I absolutely hated about this book was the narrators, Leon DOES NOT sound like a rapper- he cannot pull it off, I don't even know where to start with Machelle, she was dry, slow & just boring. I continued with the book because it was well written.
