I wish it was CGP Gray who narrated this book.

Book is pretty good it has many useful tips, however I haven't tested them yet in practice. The are some hick-ups that were not edited out but at least they are rare. At one point the book refers to a picture of a spreadsheet which is obviously missing in the audiobook.

Narrator sounds like he wants to talk like CGP Gray in his educational video but falls short. Although it's not terrible.

 I Like This One

I like the audiobook but have not finished it yet. I bought it because I liked what I saw. The author explains why we procrastinate. That's a good place to start.

improve your productivity immediately

The overall scheme is sensible, practical, and it works--particularly like the "Do the one thing" that gets a priority project going or finished. And as with a good cookbook, you can dip in anywhere and find wonderful strategies and actions that will improve your productivity immediately. Use this book and its advice and you will find you have enough time to do what you need to do--and better yet, what you want to do.

Lots of good reviews - not sure why

I was super excited to get this book - there are a lot of great reviews on it. Did the author pay someone to write them? Are they friends? I can barely get through the book - the narrator sounds like a robot and it's distracting. Don't waste your money on this.

Mehh

Nah! Don’t bother. Other than “pomodoro”(which the narrator keeps mispronouncing as pamadoora), there’s nothing revolutionary about the author’s suggestions or techniques. He just keeps talking about symptoms and causes of procrastination. Then he proceeds to state,”Don’t do that. Do the important tasks instead” or “Find a method or way to stop being distracted and then use it everyday”.

A better book would be “Finish What You Started” by M. Rosen who also gives you a free copy of the entire ebook with the audio.

Would have liked PDF pic of chart mentioned

I have to agree with another reviewer. The narrator often sounded robotic. I chose an audio version because I have trouble reading non-fiction in print. The narrator makes a big difference.

Could be better.

A bit disappointing. Basically a over elaborate way to say make a to-do list and do it. Except keep spend countless hours doing on a excel spreadsheet and diary. Not practical at all for people who aren’t attached to a computer all day.

There is some good one liners here and there to put in the knowledge bank.

Narrator is bland and butchers the pronunciation of the word “ leisure “ multiple times.

Found Useful

Enjoyed this book. It is full of action plans and tips. I listened to it, which was easy but I wish I got it in print to see the excel spreadsheet to organise my activities. I created my own anyway and I find it keeps me more accountable. I still procrastinate, but not nearly as much.

Buy this book

This book helped me torch laziness and in general, has helped me create a new mindset on life. Great short book. John gets to the point and does not sugar coat anything. He provides some great advice based off his experiences and how you can apply them. Overall great listen!

Don’t be fooled by any negative reviews

I rarely write reviews. In fact I NEVER write reviews. Perhaps that’s because I was a monster procrastinator. I listened to this 3 times now. Short. Sweet. It quite simply changed my attitude and gave me hope. I’ve never been so productive.

Usefull tips, but not so much on procrastination

This is not the cure, I can tell you that! Book says things like "just do it" and "don't be lazy". If it was that easy I would not have turned to help...

If you decide to buy the book nonetheless, put the speed to at least 1.15x otherwise it is exhausting to listen to.

A great toolkit to combat procrastination

I listened to the entire book in a single session.

The book is a brunt wake-up call combined with tools to work on your procrastination issue.

I highly recommend this book and listen to it at least couple of times. First time as a wake up call and a 2nd time to understand the tools the author offers to fight procrastination.

Anti-Anxiety 30 Day Plan

After following Brian for quite some time and reading soft skills, I think this book has helped me the most in overcoming obstacles. Even though it's a short read I feel like it only strengthens the topic this book covers. This is your best work Brian and I will do my best to apply these concepts to my life, cheers!

Another Great Book by Brian!

They waste a lot of time on words instead of getting to the heart of the matter. That's what I like about John's book: he hammers on the reality of the situation: what you aren't doing is still contributing to your reality. So, if you don't like you're reality, find a way (whatever way that is), and do something about it. It's funny, and he doesn't waste words. I like it. I recommend it.
