Publisher's Summary

The youngest warlock to ever wield lightning, 14-year-old Anna Atticus Stone dreams of attending the prestigious Academy of Arcane Arts.

Except her life is a mess. She's friendless, her older sister keeps knocking her teeth out, and her parents constantly argue.

Anna endures the chaos by studying for the coming academy entrance trials. A pass will mean friends, warlock tournaments, and exploring a thousand-year-old academy - maybe even solving a mystery or two.

But when she discovers her father carries an ancient and powerful secret intended for only one daughter - a secret her sister will do anything to possess - Anna finds herself in a desperate fight for her family...and her very future.

Prodigy of Thunder is packed with powerful sorcery, fearless adventure, ancient mysteries, and tender betrayal. It can be heard alone or as a prequel to Sever Bronny's best-selling coming-of-age sagas The Arinthian Line series and the Fury of a Rising Dragon series.

Surprisingly refreshing Performance made the book

Narrator, amazing made the book! Ana's mannerisms and the story flow reminds me of the video series Ann with an e. If you like the series of Ann/e you will enjoy this book.

Ignore bad reviews

You will see some bad reviews. Ignore them the people that wrote them don’t understand the story line. Save this book for last. Read or listen to the core series first.

Lots of whining and crying

I almost drown in the tsunami of tears and complaining the characters did in this book. But my main disappointment was there wasn’t much newness in this book (e.g. new spells not found in other books). In the next book, I hope the author abandons this whiny “it’s just not fair” style of writing and does something less annoying or something more like the other books.

The only thing I disliked, …. Was that the book ended and the next one is not out yet!

If I could give this 10 stars I would!!

I love all of the Arenthian Books written by this author. But this one is by far my favorite! Learning about Anna's childhood and all of her adventures and challenges was amazing to experience first hand through her words. I can not wait for the 2nd book!!! And so many more secrets to unlock :)

Anna's back story is DRAMATIC!

The full three name writing style of Sever Brony still grates after the first three or four chapters. Anna's backstory is very dramatic and Prodigy of Thunder really opens her up a lot more than we could see in all the previous volumes. I look forward to following this story as well.

How to Do a Prequel 101

Every bit as good the original books in the series, this prequel brings new life and depth to a mysterious and beloved character from that series. Looking SO forward to more!
