True life for the follower of Jesus really is a moment-by-moment trust that God is dependable and fulfills his promises. This is living by faith in future grace, which provides God's mercy, provision, and wisdom - everything we need - to accomplish his good plans for us. In Future Grace, chapter by chapter - one for each day of the month - Piper reveals how cherishing the promises of God helps break the power of persistent sin issues.

One of the greatest crimes of this generation of Christians is its neglect of the Gospel, and it is from this neglect that all our other maladies spring forth. Absent from too many pulpits are the essential themes that make up the very core of the Gospel: the justice of God, the radical depravity of man, the blood atonement. In The Gospel's Power and Message, Paul Washer addresses these essential elements of Christ's good news and provides a guide to help us rediscover the Gospel in all its beauty, scandal, and saving power.

A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Story
What happens in the heart when it experiences real saving faith? John Piper argues that faith in Christ is not saving unless it includes an “affectional dimension of treasuring Christ.” Nor is God glorified as he ought to be unless he is treasured in being trusted. Saving faith in Jesus Christ welcomes him forever as our supreme and inexhaustible pleasure. What Is Saving Faith? explains that a Savior who is treasured for his all-satisfying worth is more glorified than a Savior who is only trusted for his all-forgiving competence.

Publisher's Summary
From Genesis to Revelation, the providence of God directs the entire course of redemptive history. Providence is “God’s purposeful sovereignty”. Its extent reaches down to the flight of electrons, up to the movements of galaxies, and into the heart of man. Its nature is wise and just and good. And its goal is the Christ-exalting glorification of God through the gladness of a redeemed people in a new world.

A book that discusses God’s work and our place in it
This book is wonderful - as in full of wonders!
It describes, clearly, the specific way God works in this world and our role in that work.
The narration is extremely well done - engaging without being distracting.
John Piper has done his homework. I suspect this book is the distillation of a lifetime of careful consideration of the truths laid out in God’s word.
It is truly a fruitful read.

Thorough, Precise, Understandable, Biblical
This book is an excellent handling and explanation of God's all-pervasive Providence regarding all of creation and all that happens in it, bringing ultimate comfort to Christians that God really is in control and pursuing His desires for you in your own life are worthy, and in fact commanded, endeavors.
This book is thorough and addresses deep Biblical concepts using scripture to demonstrate the Truth of what the Bible has to say about God's Providence. It seems to me that many, even longtime Christians, might find some new understanding of God's workings and ultimate plan here. New Christians may need some guidance from a strong fellow Christian, but openhearted prayer is probably most important.
Thanks for a really solid book on this subject.

I liked the subject of the book. However the narrator frequently drops or whispers the last syllable of a sentence. It makes it difficult to understand. Because of this, the overall narrative seems choppy and disjointed. It just doesn’t flow from one theme to the next.
