Publisher's Summary

Do you want to know how to build an effective public speech, fulfill the tasks set by the speaker, convince the audience, and attract them to your side? What methods and techniques do you need to apply?

Even if you are not a natural communicator, with Public Speaking Skills: A Practical Guide, you will see that it will give you what you need when it comes to knowing how to speak in public in different scenarios.

The many topics within the book include:

  • Developing eloquence
  • Organizing a speech correctly
  • Mastering the methods of oratory
  • Mastering body language, voice, and intonation
  • Improving energy and self-esteem
  • Overcoming fear and anxiety
  • And much more!

After establishing a firm understanding of these topics, there should be no reason for any doubt to remain about how the public speaking communication process works.

The more correctly a person expresses his thoughts, the more easily he achieves his life goals. The ability to possess information, work with it, and transmit it, easily and competently - these are the qualities of a modern successful person.

The word is not only a means of communication and exchange of information, but it is also a tool for influencing the consciousness and will of people in order to educate them, form beliefs, and mobilize them for specific cases. And such tasks can only be accomplished by a remarkable person, which is what those who master the art of rhetoric become - a special science about the laws of “invention, arrangement, and expression of thoughts and speech". No wonder it was called, in ancient times, “the art of controlling the minds” (Plato) and was placed on par with the art of a commander (Cicero), and its strong influence is recognized as vital in the development of society and the state.

Naturally, many scholars have devoted their treatises to oratory, wanting to find new tricks and methods with which to make speech convincing. And today, practitioners and researchers in the field of oratory are also worried about the questions.

The task of this audiobook is, precisely, to answer these questions, drawing on the experience of the author and researchers. First of all, from “A” to “S”, an algorithm for working on a public speech is given. The theory is supported by practical work, by performing which the listener will consolidate the knowledge received.

Fraud. All reviews are phony. Garbage

I can't believe audible lets this sort of thing through. The five star reviews are most likely all fabricated and fake. You cannot follow this book for more than a few minutes. Nothing makes sense in it. A garbage book on presentation, go figure

So dry, monotoned and uninteresting

There wasn’t anything in least helpful in this presentation. The performance was delivered dryly and so uninteresting, so much so it was like listening to white noise. Horrible.

Most gifted speakers

Many of the most gifted speakers that we see and admire - such as Warren Buffet, actually took public speaking lessons and have attributed that too much of his success.

It's actually something you can learn

Being an eloquent speaker is not necessarily something you are born with. It's actually something you can learn, cultivate and hone.

The speaker receives the best experience.

Great speakers do that very same thing on stage. Their focus is fully on the audience to make sure the people who have granted their time and attention toward the speaker receives the best experience.

Exciting

I find the examples peppered with too much of one's own experiences, more examples of applying to real life in different situations would have been more helpful

Great speaker

You can tell he’s a great speaker just by how he delivers the material he wants to get across to the listener (his audience). He expertly interweaves stories and analogies that make the book enjoyable to listen at a level that you actually forget you’re learning something.
