Publisher's Summary

I've never been in love. I've never had an orgasm, but I've faked plenty. I want to experience love. Real, passionate love. I don't want to die.

It's funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you're on is going down, and I didn't hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash. My hysterical confessions didn't faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me. In fact, he promised if we survived, he'd give me my first orgasm.

We survived. I came. And then he left without telling me who he was.

On the first day of my job, I stood in front of the Vancouver Wolves hockey team and called out a number. #33. Imagine my shock when he skated forward.

Max is an incredible hockey player, whose wild, out-of-control antics have almost derailed his career. So many secrets shroud his past and continue to threaten his future. Now he's my secret. And that secret could ruin everything.

Contains mature themes.

What a disappointment

Narrator was horrible. No change in tone and no emotion.
I HATED rory's mother. Like seriously wanted to punch her in the face. She was such a b and I hated how Rory had no backbone when it came to her parents. This had great potential but feel short.

ah loved it...great sports Romance!

Both the author and narrator were new to me and I loved them both! This story was full of angst, love, had its steamy parts, a great storyline that kept my attention from the start, and some twists towards the end that I didn't see coming. Definitely recommend! You will not be disappointed!

poor voice over/actress

the story was great. but the voice, could she have any less passion or vocal range? no. if there was a better vocal performance the passion and angst of each character would be much clearer. because of the poor vocal range it was hard to distinguish one character from another. overall I would recommend this book with caviot of a poor vocal performance

It Had Promise

It had Promise... but the book lacked something. The whole book felt forced and choppy.

Absolutely dreadful

The narration is dreadful, to start. Then the characters have some very serious communication issues. And very unhealthy relationships. The parents are disgusting frankly. They bully get into taking this job. Then they don’t let her DO the job. They keep secrets so she can’t make informed choices. But she’s barely better when she won’t speak up when just one or two sentences would clear up so many things. Really, they’re all terrible.

new author for me!

I'm normally not a big sports fan, but this was fantastic! Great balance of romance, humor, sports, and suspense. The narration was fantastic!

When lack of communication goes too far.

It can be cute with some misunderstandings, lack of just having straight communication when you feel unsure, confused in a love story.. When you are unsure of how the object of your affection really feels, like the heroine here. But when the longer you get into a story and the woman and man that cleary want eachother ends up as rational and communicative as high school students that seem to almost want to misunderstand and draw too quick conclusions. Then you have a bit of a hard time to just root for the characters for hours on end. When they again and again can’t be just honest and ask straight up questions as grown ups. It gets too much, too many unworthy turns for smart people to take. Like in a day time soap almost. Too bad. Because it was promising in the beginning when they met on the plane. And the narration isn’t bad.

its a no.

sorry, i really wanted to like the story but this was not it. the female lead was annoying and a contradiction. one minute she's a"confident ashford" the next she lets something so small make her cry. sorry to the author she is a skilled writer and the story flowed but this was just unbelievable and i ended up listening at a speed of x3.something just to finish the story.

Started well, but fizzled out..

I really like to support authors and make sure a good story is recognised but unfortunately this wasn’t one of those.. On paper the story should have been interesting and address some particularly poignant issues regarding sexual assault and women in sport management, however it missed the mark by a rink.
Specifically, the heroine was weak willed and let everyone walk over her. The narrator was monotone and her interpretation of the male character was dopey at best.
The story dragged on and while I did finish it, it was only out of hope it would improve..
Great premise but missed the mark for me.

Great story, narrator was a bit of a let down

I enjoyed the story, but the narrator, I don't think was the best choice compared to some of the other narrators reading other hockey books. the male voice came across as a dummy. and the tone of some of the reading in some sections of the book was a little mono tone. great story, great suspense. good story overall.

Great story!

The only thing thing that could have improved was a male POV with sexy male narration.

Great choice of narrator

I loved the Canadian accent from the narrator, however her male voice for Max did feel emotionless.

An enjoyable story, if not a little rushed at the end.

didn't quite do it for me

I'm used to dual narrator's and even though Madeleine did a great job, her male voice made the hero sound dumb. it started to draw out a bit too long and I seriously wanted Rory to grow a set and tell her dad where to get off. it frustrated me a bit. also hero's POV would have been so much better so we understNd his silence instead of asking the question of why is he acting so docile.
all in all, ok but not into this author or solo narrator
