Pressfield the Guru

Insightful, inspiring, and action-provoking!! It’s the next best thing to sitting in a room with Steven Pressfield and absorbing his wisdom. I will be listening to this book again and again.

Pressfield at his best!

Another gem from Steve Pressfield. I can’t think of another modern creative who is as dedicated to explaining the psychology of creativity, not as a sterile academic, but as someone who knows it from personal experience. Steve lives and breathes this stuff.

As his other non-fiction works, this strikes right at the heart of the things that stop you from pursuing your creative enterprise, be it novel, film, a startup business, anything you want to create.

Read or listen to this book. You will find something new to help you on every journey into its chapters.

A Necessary Tool....

I have listened to this book multiple times. It is a reminder to keep putting in the work even when I am scared and don't see a clear path yet. It reminds me to keep going especially when I feel resistance.

Encore Steven Pressfield

Once again I listened to this audible book by Stephen press field while working in my art studio. Once again, I was filled with inspiration, motivation and the fire I need to promote and market my work. I recommend this book, not just to artists or the like, but to anyone who has a dream, at any age and at any point in their lives. This is the perfect material to ignite or refuel that dream on this beautiful journey. As always, it is an added plus to listen to Steven read and share his experience, knowledge and wisdom.

Brilliant on Every Level

Steve Pressfield has a knack for brilliance, ever since he wrote War of Art. He is able to distill in a few short hours what the geniuses of old have been trying to say forever. Pressfield has a down-to-earth and commanding presence. As the former president of Paramount Pictures, and the former president of production of Disney Studios, I can not think of a better two hours spent by any creative than getting their ears around this audio book!

A stellar performance from Steve as usual.

The War of Art was the first book I ever read in one sitting from cover to cover. I hesitated in finishing Put Your Ass Where Your Heart Wants to Be primarily because I wanted to cherish the first-time listening audiobook experience for as long as possible; I finally finished it.

That being said, the book flows smoothly as do all of Steve's non-fiction works. Steve's voice is steady and insightful; it's easy to follow and a pleasure to listen to. I've listened to all of Steve's non-fiction audiobooks as well as read most of his non-fiction books in Kindle format. I prefer the audiobooks because the nature of my daily activities makes it easier to listen to works as opposed to reading them.

Just when you think there's no more depths that can be reached on the topic of Resistance and obstacles towards goal achievement, Steve hits a home run again with this title. Listeners/Readers of his previous non-fiction work will notice a familiar theme in this work (there are a couple of excerpts from The War of Art and The Artist's Journey to name a few). The familiarity helps maintain the spirit of Steve's age old "Resistance fighting" theme, however the additions add more scope to his subject matter and help any aspiring goal setter and achiever look beyond the traditional concept of Resistance.

I think this is a great addition to anyone's library.

Inspiring

Somehow these types of books by Steven Pressfield (War of Art, Turning Pro, etc etc) manage to be the same idea but totally different in their own way. This one was no exception. These really help me on my artist journey, thank you

Just what I needed!

Steven’s words really resonated with me. It’s time to stop thinking about it and just do it! His message was clear, concise and vetted by actions of others. A quick listen you’ll want to finish in one sitting. 👍🏻

Blinding flash of the obvious…but seldom acted upon…

I’ve read several of Stephen‘s books, and his insights are both relevant and inspiring. This small but powerful book will be helpful to any aspiring artist, writer or other prevaricator. It’s helped me get my head in order, and has a good chance of putting my ass where my heart needs to be. Thank you, Stephen.

Another great addition

I've read/listened to all of Steven Pressfield's non fiction books. This one did not disappoint.

A great reminder that to overcome resistance, we need to put ourselves where we will be best placed to do the work.
