Publisher's Summary

Jalia hasn't ever played a game she can't win.

The promise of a queen's ransom is too much for lifelong gambler Jalia to pass up. The untouched planet of Minos is rumored to be so wealthy, one can walk along the beach and pluck diamonds from the sea. According to the contract, all she has to do to win is solve a few puzzles and navigate a labyrinth or two. Simple! But she didn't read the fine print....

She isn't competing to win treasure, she's competing to become queen of Minos. Marriage to the king: mandatory. A king who sends men to their deaths by the dozen kills anyone who dares speak against him, and his people live in fear of his wrath.

Bound by the contract, Jalia has no choice but to try or die while the challenges grow evermore deadly. Even if she wins, marrying the monstrous king of Minos may be a fate worse than death.

Contains mature themes.

Diamond in the rough

Listen to this book. Read this book. The story is fantastic. The writing is superb. The descriptive writing take you into the strory. The lead female character is bad a**. Most fiction stories you read the female lead is physically advanced and can do unimaginable things. Well, unimaginable to me, anyway. This female lead, however, has an amazing brain, is witty with a smart mouth and good soul. No “magical”abilities other than being able to change the color of her hair and eyes and skin. This book brings humor, anticipation, panty melting, and sci-fi. I’m so glad I found this gem. The story does drag on at the end. But no complaints from me. The writer had more to tell about her characters and the worlds they live in. Well done and thank you.

A different but entertaining romance!

I enjoyed this audiobook very much. The characters were interesting and made me want to keep listening to the story. The setting is the planet Minos, where the king ants to find a wife. His advisor goes out and brings back a group of different alien women who will compete to become queen. The heroine is a human who signed up thinking she was winning a valuable prize, only to find out the conditions after she arrives. The king is gorgeous, but the contestants are problematic. The contests consists of 9 maze challenges, with each one becoming more difficult. The king wants her to win, but can’t just stop the contest and declare her queen.
This story has action, humor and sexy bits. Narration was well done, but I think a male voice could have added to its overall appeal.

Worth the credit

This feel-good sci-fi/fantasy romance story is worth your time and credit. I enjoyed the action and the love story. Everything ties up a little too nicely in the end and the climax of the book happens about halfway through. I wish there were more clues for some of the revelations that happen towards the end. Overall this is a great story, okay narrator and leaves you satisfied in the end.

Awesome

I truly enjoyed this book, there were funny moments, crazy moments, scary moments, and down right hilarious moments. I loved the characters in this book, good and bad. The romance between the MC was AWESOME and so SWEEEET. In the end everything just fell in place and surprising characters played such a surprising role. I mean really surprising. Secrets were amazing and once again surprising...lol great book. I would soooooo reccomend this book to others.

Yo the author, THANK YOU.

Unique story and entertaining

Unique story and good world-building. Simple but entertaining. Narration was okay. I could see future story possibilities but appreciated that author actually tied up the main story for once, while throwing out crumbs for future stories. To me I prefer that in a series, versus splitting one story into 2 or 3 books.

Good plot, ok written, mediocre narration

Interesting plot with meetings and integration of future different civilisations. Also one where the human world isn’t (for once) the ones technologically in a disadvantage-that’s cool.
A nice love story, but I just felt a bit bored by the end, kind of a never ending story, last hour of the book I could of been without, but I’m guessing she’s building up for a second book so I get it.

Narration ok for some characters, but way to dramatic when crying or in “pleasure”.
Unfortunately her narration for some male parts where just horrible. The description of Naveer was a pretty sympathetic and manly guy, but she made him sound like an annoying cheerleader..?

But overall a good sci-fi- romance in a pretty cool setting, although a bit too long and one to many side plots going on.
