These findings, which are explained here in understandable, nontechnical language, form the basis of his Sound Marital House theory of marriage, which guides the new therapy. This therapy has two goals: changing the marital friendship and teaching couples to regulate conflict.

Machista

Wanted to hear this…
I think there may be a ton of valuable info here, but the narrator sounds like a newscaster. So unless you love hearing the “news” or “forecaster”, this is just too much of the same tone that I could bear. Wanted to hear the wisdom this book has to offer and can usually withstand a less than optimal narrator..but this one was just too hard to hear and/or retain any of the words being spoken. Hate to give negative feedback bc she is obviously a professional narrator, but not for a book on audio. Really disappointed I bought this bc I won’t be listening to it. It’s a bad reading for this particular context. Hate to hate on her. This is just not a news report though. ABC or any news outlet would be lucky to have you. Genuinely speaking!

Too religious
If you can abide phrases like, "...this is because God intended the man to be the head of the household" then this book is for you.
Some of the questions were relevant and interesting but the cis, hetero, Christian biases were just too much for me. It made me so uncomfortable I couldn't complete the book.
