Story
I've been in love with my best friend since forever. Okay, fine. Like, kindergarten. It started out platonic, obviously, but then became.... Nope. Still platonic. The problem is that Parker Ellis has been straight since forever. And that makes it difficult to convince him that the two of us are meant to be together. And now, there's no point. All is lost. He's gone and gotten engaged to his high-school sweetheart - which means I have to grin and bear it, while pretending to be the happy, supportive best man, while he prepares to commit his life to a woman.

Get a personal chef, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. And then Thierry shows up and Pietro realizes his mistake. Because he knows Thierry. A little too well. Thierry is the man who told his ex to leave him. Thierry is the man who punched Pietro and ran. Thierry...is his ex-boyfriend’s best friend. But Pietro also knows the man needs a job. An injury destroyed his former career, and Pietro is nothing if not a bleeding heart. Besides, he doesn’t have time to search for a new chef, not with the World Series looming and his team ready to go all the way.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

Story
When Miller Hobbs finds himself on a winter vacation in Colorado with the giant, exceedingly loud, Marian and Wilde families, he doesn’t quite know what to do with himself. He’s not really a Marian or a Wilde despite having DNA ties to both. So every morning before the rest of the family wakes up and fills Rockley Lodge with holiday merriment (and noise), he escapes to the quaint downtown of Aster Valley where he spies a man through the bakery window kneading dough and dancing to music only he can hear.

I’m a SEAL. Or rather, I was. Retired at the grand old age of 38, I’m at loose ends. My best friend wants me to join his security team. I’m not sure I’m bodyguard material, but he needs someone to protect his kid brother. How hard can spoiled brat duty be? Somehow, I missed the part where former child star Danny Love went from dorky TV darling to all grown up and disturbingly attractive. All the gossip about his wild ways fails to mention that he’s trying hard to clean up his act.

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Friends don't bang friends. I want my friends to stay in my life, especially that flirty, clever, outgoing best friend of mine. It's a darn good thing Owen and I made a pact in college to never ever sleep together, or else I'd be tempted. Trouble is, eight years later, I've been wondering what his kisses taste like. And I've been curious if our chemistry would extend into the bedroom. If he might feel the same risky pull. But I don't want to lose Owen.

Its great but
So chapter 17, 18 and 19 are out of order... i dont know why? So 19 should be heard after 16, then 18 and the 17...seems like something that could be fixed! despite that hiccup its a very cute and fun listen:)

Out of order?
I can't figure out if the chapters were edited together out of order by mistake or if the author intentionally wrote some of them out of order. But so far chapters 17 through 19 are a jumbled mess of things happening out of sequence. It's a little more than frustrating because the book is otherwise amazing.

Return to Hidden Creek
I really enjoyed this return to Hidden Creek.
I liked the slow burn between Thomas and Dalton.
These once enemies become lovers as they get to know each other again.
I was kept fully engaged in the story by the excellent narration.
Nick Russo does a great job of bringing these men to life.

Great enemies to lovers story
Dalton and Thomas came from feuding families. There was a lot of history between them, and Thomas would've been glad to never see Dalton again. When circumstances change, however, Dalton and Thomas find they have a lot more in common than they think and they really enjoy spending time together. These guys were really sweet together and were a little bit swoon-worthy. It was so nice to see Dalton open himself up and find his happiness, and it was great to see Thomas realize that being home wasn't as awful as he thought it would be. Thomas was such a patient and great character, and Dalton was a perfect match for him. This was a great addition to the Hidden Creek universe. Nick J. Russo did an awesome job narrating.

Great Story
I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. This is my first book by this author and I’ve enjoyed listening to the story of Thomas and Dalton. Thomas decides to go to college away from the town where he was bullied in school for being gay. Dalton is afraid to come out to anyone since he saw what happened to Thomas and he feels guilty for not coming to his defense. Thomas is called back to the town he wanted to escape from due to his family needing his help with the ranch. When a pregnant cow goes missing Thomas goes out to locate her. While he is out there he comes across Dalton riding his horse. Thomas calls him over and they start talking when Dalton tells him he will help find the cow. This is when feelings start to show between the two men when they are all alone watching the sunset.

Delicious Cowboys
After reading the ebook of this one, I was thrilled to listen to the audiobook. The narrator does a great job of really pulling you into the story and taking the journey right along with the characters. What a great way to start off a new season of this wonderful series. I love that it has cowboys with the added benefit of enemies to lovers. Thomas and Dalton are both wonderful characters with great chemistry and a strong connection. The families have been feuding for generations and I really enjoyed watching Thomas and Dalton overcome all of their obstacles to get their HEA! I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Welcome to Hidden Creek
Welcome back to Hidden Creek, and to the wonderful men that reside there (and their families/friends)! Although this is the 4th "Season"/book 1, it can be read as a standalone (although the other books are AMAZING!!)!
In this book, we have a enemies-to-lovers, in Dalton and Thomas. Dalton has been in the closet forever, but when Thomas come backs to town, he has to decide whether its time to go after what and who he really wants, despite what their families will say.
This book is one with a little bit more angst than I normally like in a book, but the writing, the humor and the love that is in this book more than makes up for it. The characters, including the side characters are extremely well written (especially grandma!!!!) and you can't help but root for them!
The narration is absolutely perfect for this series! Nick J Russo did an amazing job giving life to the first book of this series to come to audio - and gave the characters such life!
This book is a wonderful trip back to Hidden Creek!

Love Wins
I was lucky to get promo codes for all of the books of Season 4 of Hidden Creek and Nick J. Russo does a great job of voicing these characters. He brings the story to life. This book by Blake Roland is primarily about two feuding/competing ranches and the failings they hide behind their façades until Dalton and Thomas come together by accident and chance. They become lovers and friends in spite of their families attitudes. This is a heart-warming tale of two lovers bringing their rival families together. Highly recommended for all lovers of Contemporary MM romance.

Gotta love a Cowboy...
I’ve never been to Hidden Creek before but now I’ve visited, I’ll definitely be back. I like the idea of a series written by different Authors.
I enjoyed this story, enemies to lovers is a favourite troupe of mine. Bullies coming good are always fun! I liked both MC’s and this is a really easy listen. As other reviewers have said, there’s definitely a taste of Romeo and Juliet running through the tale.
Nick J Russo is a fabulous narrator, if he’s doing the rest of the series it’ll be an auto buy for me.

This was an enemies-to-lovers, slow-burn, first-time romance, with a bit of a Romeo and Juliet vibe, since Thomas and Dalton's families were enemies as well. It was entertaining, although, it felt like it dragged a bit at some parts.
I liked Thomas and Dalton and even if it took forever and a day for Dalton to get his act together and come out as bisexual to his family and the rest of the town, I wasn't all that annoyed with him. It was kind of understandable, seeing how the other kids behaved with Thomas back when they were still in high school. Thomas and Dalton had a lot of chemistry, though, and it was nice seeing them together.
I hated Harry, Thomas's cousin, from the start, and I hated him even more after what he did to the family who had taken him in. I was glad that even if both Thomas and Dalton's families could be very headstrong, they were willing to make an effort for their kids.
Nick Russo did a fantastic job with all the voices as always, especially with Dalton, who ended up being my favorite of them all.
This was a pretty enjoyable audiobook and I have no trouble recommending it!

My first trip to Hidden Creek, but not my last.
I'm always a bit cautious about bully turned boyfriend but here the Dalton was bully adjacent and being bullied himself at the same time as struggling with his own sexuality. Also the high school period only covers one chapter and is from Dalton's pov, so there is little time or inclination to build Dalton up as a bad guy. Especially as soon as the book hits the present it is obvious that Dalton is one of the good guys, sweet, hard-working, loyal, and in the closet. He's also ditched those friends that were dragging him down, determined not to be trouble.
This is a sweet story despite the initial bullying, a little too perfect in places (the end with the feuding families) but a tale that will put a smile on your face. Easy listening, indeed, and the narrator does a fantastic job.
A couple of niggles: I guessed the bad guy straight away. And there was some serious pronoun confusion where the author used he rather too liberally. The characters' names would have been preferable.

This book is something special! Healing and Heartfelt!!
I loved this one. Dalton and Thomas have an unfortunate past and I really liked how Blake approached this. Bullying through silence can be just as bad as being the instigator. Dalton has regretted his treatment of Thomas for as long as he's known him and I felt for Dalton's secrets and heartbreak. Fear can cause people to do unwise things and I'm glad we got to see both Dalton and Thomas grow from their pasts, heal and become better and stronger for it.
I felt for Thomas and his conflicting feelings and struggles as he tries to re-adjust to his new life back in Hidden Creek. He feels like a failure but must brush himself off and face his past to move forward. I like his journey and strength and how he continued to stay out and round even when it was hard. It was great to see familiar faces in this story and how the town has changed and is growing with the times and support.
I felt this story had a little bit of an underlying Romeo and Juliet or really, Romeo & Romeo element to it, with the two waring and competing families, always trying to outdo each other and Dalton and Thomas coming together despite it all. I loved the Bi awakening Dalton was able to get through and the growth and healing both characters and their families when through was beautifully written. This was a truly special read.
I loved it and can't wait for more from Blake and more from Hidden Creek!!!
Thanks for reading!

good intro to Hidden Creek. first class narration.
I'm fairly new to the Hidden Creek stories, but I do love them. This is a Romeo and Juliet themed story, it was all , 'never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.' Or in this case, of Thomas and his Dalton!
I don't want to spoil this story for anyone so all I'm going to say is you will not be disappointed. It has everything Love, passion, arguments and humour. It's an entertaining story, made better by Nick Russo's narration. Dalton and Thomas stole my heart.
Well worth both a read and a listen to.

Sweet M/M cowboy love story
This is a great start to the new season of Hidden Creek stories. Two men, two families, homophobia, fear, and secrets. I loved the characters, especially Thomas. After being bullied by Dalton when they were in school, Thomas has now bulked up some and when he finds Dalton loitering outside the town's only gay bar, he decides to confront him. He is not going to let Dalton bully him or anyone else. Of course, it's a misunderstanding, but I loved how Thomas took a stand. Explanations and apologies follow. and the two men connect. Love will not be easy, however, since their families have been at war for years. It was a great read to see them fight for their love above all.
The narration was great with varied voices for the different characters, and fantastic emotional expression that matched the events of the story.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily left this honest review.
