Good introductory info

Good information for beginners, though the writing/ narration can get very repetitive. More of an introductory book than a reference manual.

Very informative, Great for beginners.

This audiobook is very good and now I have all the information I would need in one complete title. It even has guides for the best breed of sheep. It has answers to problem questions. I'm been able to figure out many different issues I have with my sheep because of this volume. It really is a great resource, and I'm very happy to have it in my collection.

Impressive Guidance for new Farmers

Bought this audible for a friend of mine whose goal is to move to Idaho and start a Sheep farm. Ok, there's not much in here about shep, but great ideas on how to set up a farm with farming and animals, depending on size. Lots to read and think about, which is the idea behind gifting the title.

Great Series, Great Book 6

I bought this as a gift for my younger brother who loves raising sheep and lives in the country on a farm. He absolutely loved it! I thought it might be too grown up but it was perfect for him, thanks to the Dion Rosser.

It is fun to have ! Lots of good info!

This audiobook is just what I was looking for. We are wanting to start our Backyard Sheep farm and I have no clue what I need or how to do it or how much of what lol This volume breaks it all down for those of us who don't know much! I highly recommend this book.

Good but basic data.

This audiobook is OK, but it contains very basic information in my view. If you have any knowledge, then this is probably not the title for you. But if you're starting from ground zero - it's very good.

We are a lot less scared now!

We have a smaller farm and have a lot of sheep. We used to be city people. This audiobook has helped us transition nicely into homesteading and has been so informative and helpful! When we acquire this knowledge, thanks to the Dion Rosser.

Happy with this purchase!

If you own the original Backyard Homestead this audiobook is great for going into more detail about animal care (if you don’t own it you need to get it!!. Wish it had a section about horses but there are plenty of books already out there about them.

Always the best, Dion Rosser thanks to you!

This gives me all the information and to other authorities for specific information or assistance. Well-created for those of us who do not have a college biology degree. Thank you!

introduction to raising sheep

The authors attempt to provide a thorough introduction to raising sheep, but this is the edition of an audible from 2000 and, in my opinion, there has not been enough deletion of old material. Instead, new information has been cheated onto enduring structures.

Good work but lacking some areas.

All the listeners will be eager to start their own backyard flocks. However, there is a lack of passion and deep, decades-long knowledge conveyed in the earlier versions of this audiobook.

An excellent audible

The first half of Excellent Sheep is about the problems of higher education. Nothing here that I have not heard before: students who cannot accept failure or C’s, helicopter parents, administrators treating scholars like consumers, etc. But what makes this audible great is the second half, where Deresiewicz focuses on the heart of higher education.

Excellent Sheep

This audible is a forceful indictment of the current college system and what happens to kids who are on the fast track to completion. Deresiewicz states that these students have learned how to please their teachers and coaches over their school years and that the process has robbed them of reflective abilities that could benefit their stressed, often depressed, state of mind. He speaks forcefully about this, saying at one point, “They’ve learned to ‘be a student,’ not to use their minds.”

pieces fit together when raising sheep,

This audible suggests appropriate contest, delves into coat types and breeds. It even touches on livestock guardian dogs and herding dogs. It can't cover every topic to the fullest extent, but it gives you enough knowledge to understand how all the sections fit together when raising sheep, some topics may need more investigation and experimentation on the reader's part.

A Good Initial Book

Getting sheep? Have sheep? This book is the end-all authority on sheep. Nicely organized, it runs through the natural cycles that your sheep will follow throughout the year. It is enjoyable & easy to read, too.
